Well, here are the coordinates to the old gas station I've been working on. It has some old signs and the pumps are from the late '60's, the building is about 1955 or so. It is a model of one I worked at in the '80's. Believe it or not we displayed old signs that were hidden away in the garage, hence the mix of very old and "new" stuff.

I'm sorry I don't have a pic to show, I'll try to get one uploaded tonight. But for now if you are ever making your way through Chong please stop by and check it out. Please go easy on me, I'm still new and this is only my second build plus it's still not quite done!

Would love some feedback.

OK, got a screenshot now.

Nice build; even cooler name choice, Ahkenaten. I look forward to seeing it "in person".

Thanks!

I don't think I've ever had so much fun playing a computer "game" before.

Stop by anytime Malachi, you get an oil change on the house!

"Experts" think he was but are not 100% sure. I like him because he was the "heretic" pharaoh. Kind of set Egypt on it's ear at the time.

That's some hotness. I love the grafitti texture in the garage.

Edit: that would appear to be something other than grafitti. I will have to investigate in-world.

Yes, he was supposedly monotheistic, his son was named Tutankaten. When the boy became pharoah he changed to Tutankamen and reverted to polytheism. (Scrabbling to remember from my old school days! hehe)

Ya what you are probably talking about is the belts hanging on the wall on the inside(which needs a TON of work by the way) There are old signs outside, a Moxie sign, battery sign, etc..

Thanks for checking it out!

We've got two interesting thoughtlines going on here... what about an Egyptian Gas Station? Now that would not only be OLD, but ANCIENT!!! :)

I'm comin' to visit the finished (for now) product shortly. Glad to hear of your work, ahkenatan.

nice... now you need a script that makes all vehicles passing by stop working until they pay you to "fill up the tank" :D

Great build, especially the Imperial. I thought the textures needed work, but then they looked great in your newer pics, so I'm thinking either you fixed them or my feeble graphics system just isn't giving me the goods (bumps, shininess, etc).

Thanks everyone!

I do need to do more work on the textures, Vudu. Especially inside the station. But the ones on the outside should be pretty good. I'll be putting my gas truck there soon as well as my other car project - a red and white Primouth Fury. So much work to do so little time!

Sinatra - I just checked out those pics of the Route 66 project. Those look fantastic, whoever built that did an awesome job! I wonder is it still standing?

Hello ahkenatan, Route 66 began in early summer 2003 and was the seed for one of the first full sim group projects "Americana." Those pictures represent the ealiest version when there were just three buildings.

Built by:

George Busch - Gas Station
Lynnix Muse - A&W
Sinatra Cartier - Thunderbird Motel

It was moved to the sim "Blue" in the Fall of 2003
As far as I know, none of the builds exist now in world.

Thanks for the memories, ahkenatan :-)
