If you guys want to see some impressive building-in-progress, fly up to Indigo and check out Chosen working on getting the to-scale Defiant up and going. He has blueprints laid out and everything! :-)

Very cool, Zebulon. It'd be neat if a Star Trek club had a whole island and could afford to keep copies of various bridges around, sort of like a museum. Choose your era :)

FlipperPA, I'm looking forward to seeing the Defiant. I put the coords of the Sci-Fi museum in my little flyer, so hopefully people will find it. I'll post a pic of the flyer when I get back from the con Sunday, in case anyone is curious about the results.

I wish I had a whole island for this stuff, but right now all I've got is a nice 12,2888 square meter plot in Indigo, labeled Sci Fi Museum. The museum's purpose is to pay homage to the shows and movies we geeks all love, and more importantly, to provide a common forum for talented SL residents to display their fan art. I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone who has any sci fi builds that are smaller than 20x20x20 to display them in the museum holodeck. (Yes, it is a fully functional holodeck in case anyone hasn't seen it yet. It will rez anything I put into it. The controls are similar to those of a vendor, so it's very easy for visitors to use. ) It seems a lot of people have bridges, various other rooms, model ships, etc. All of these would make great exhibits for the museum.

Donated exhibits are always clearly marked with the name of the creator in the hover text, so the museum is a good place to build a reputation as a builder. It seems there are so many nice-looking builds out there, it would be great to put them all in one place where people can see them easily, which as I said is the museum's purpose.

Anyone who's interested, let me know. Please dont be shy.

On another note, the new Defiant is nearing completion. I've got about 80% of the hull finished, and the bridge is in place. Hopefully it will be done by tomorrow. Come check it out.

Chosen - Maybe I will donate to the museum - it might motivate me to finish some things. And thanks for your contributions to the flyer :)

In case anyone is curious, here's a link to a shrunk down version of the flyer I made for the con. It's pretty simple.

Awesome work, Cadroe!

I won't even get into the whole "Bab 5 rules Trek!" argument. :-)

You rock, Chosen.

Flipper - Thanks :) B5 is indeed cool. I mean, they space people on B5. That's cool.

While exploring SL a few days ago, I stumbled upon your work floating above the buldings.

OH. MY. GAWD.

That is insain - in the good way! You know you HAVE to finish this now, right? ^_~ Wonderful work, truly stunning!

By the way, is there a working transporter to the Defiant? I managed to sneak in through the unfinished section in the back, but couldn't find a warp on the surface smilar to the Warbird.

Thanks for all the praise, everyone. It's very much appreciated.

To answer your question, Fenix, I haven't yet changed the transporter in the museum so that it can go to both ships. I was planning to get to that after the Defiant is finished, but I suppose I should probably do it sooner. I'll get right on it tomorrow (Saturday).

Keep checking back btw. I'm adding new stuff all the time. Sisco's ready room was finished just last night. Sickbay and the mess hall are next.
