Rag for RagsDEADLINE: Friday, March 24th, 2006 - midnight game time. Since releasing the antique upright piano in Baron Grayson's new Cigar Lounge, I've been receiving a handful of very fun notes and pictures from people who were inspired to make new clothes to vamp it up in on top of the piano. (Go ahead, click on the piano itself and choose "sit" and you'll see why). So, in the spirit of the toe-tappin' tunes from a long lost but still loved era, I'm inviting all you guys and dolls to visit the Cigar Lounge in your best period clothes (flapper girl? mobster?), snap a pic, and post it here. (No, you don't have to make the clothes -- you just have to wear 'em ~winks~) I'll be giving a new 1890 New England Upright Piano away to the person who posts the most inspiring pic here in this thread. Head over to the Cigar Lounge now. Drag your friends along. After all, you need someone to sit on the stool and play some of those Ragtime tunes that pop up when you click the tray, a few folks to grab those swanky dancing poseballs in front of the piano, and surely someone to hop ontop and vamp it up while you're snapping the winning pic. DEADLINE: Friday, March 24th, 2006 - midnight game time.

Sadly, I own no true period attire, so this is the closest I have. The rat often sat at this piano after hours, playing to no one but himself, he wasn't even that great of a pianist. Yet he sat there, from sunset to sunrise, playing song after song, letting the notes wash into and out of his thoughts, his fingers playing chord after chord, melody after melody, night after night after night. I tried to get to know him, but he ignored me, tending only to his private thoughts, his private music.

Not necessarily flapper girl since I'm not a big fan of the era, however the piano looks like an antique. And you know what they say about old things carrying other things. Imagine seeing this after hours or when the lounge is closed... (pardon the poor photoshoppery, is very tired) Click Here I was tempted to write some sort of poetry but I'm too tired. Maybe in the future. *If you want to see what she's wearing click here.

Yowzah!
Vindi, I knew you'd have something spot on :^) Your clothes are incredible. Could drop entire paychecks in your store ... lol. Kudos on the new SIM! Looks like it's time for me to part with some more of that hard earned cash. BTW ... you sell clothing from this era for men as well, right? Hope we get a few of those out here soon ...
Yuriko, you're absolutely right. The piano is from 1890, so that gorgeous outfit you're donning is perfect too. The SIM the piano is on is Sanctum Sanctorum, which Baron Grayson has redone in an art-deco theme that embraces elements from the 20's and the 40's (mmm .... licks textures). The piano itself is older, and the ragtime music I did for it is as well, so you're open to a couple of very fine eras here when choosing clothing to vamp it up in, and may I say, that lovely transparent gown is absolutely top drawer! I think we need a resident ghost in the Cigar Lounge, and that pic of your's is absolutely inspiring.
Soleil ... -love- that dress! It's the same as one of the one's Kenzi was wearing. Who makes it? It's wonderful. Great top view of you playing the piano too! Purrfect ....
So who's gonna help me round up some of those guys to accompany the dolls here? I know they're out there! Deadline is looming. Let's see if we can get some of those gents in here showing off their threads before midnight gametime this Friday :^)
Thanks for all of the wonderful submissions. Think we need to make these wonderful outfits available in a little shop near the Cigar Lounge.
Keep 'em coming!
Sue.

What a kewl idea--AND the captions to match! I can't wait to ride this piano into the middle of a shootout... in a comedic sorta way, with the piano sliding back and forth between the gunfire.
