This is 'Summer Red', one of several new model grade female GX 2.0 skins I have on the drawing board. They're designed to compliment the already released male GX2.0 skins. Questions, comments and suggestions are all welcome. There will be more to come, soon. A release date has yet to be determined. Some of the features on these opaque skins include tintable eybrows, eyelashes, and lower regions with backwards compatibility for most of the GX 1.0 skin makeovers (shadow, rouge', freckles, nails).

This particular model reference has been done to death. Some of you may recognize her. Perhaps my render has brought something new to the reference? If so, I'll continue working on the body.

From: Gianni Broda That second picture really does the skin justice!Ilove it.Do you have any plans to make skins that look younger? , I guess my question back to you is - How young do you think #2 looks? Shape is a big determining factor for how young an avatar looks (mouth, eye placement, etc.). I plan to sell a starter shape with all the new skins so the looks in the ads can be better achieved, if so desired. I won't do kid skins. Customers can tweak the shapes if they like, but I won't advertize them that way.

i wasn't talking about kid skins. But now that you say it you're right. The youth of the skin totally depends on the shape. How much are these going to cost? And will they come with makeup options?sorry if I am asking too many questions: )

The male skins are still sold in 'Fat Packs' with 12 skins. The male skins will eventually get reduced in price as 'Slim Packs' are introduced with optional custom makeovers. The female skins won't need to be sold like that when released because they will be backwards compatible with the shadow, rouge', freckles, tan lines, nails, and such. Eyebrows and the pubic area will be slider tintable, so the skin model and Appearance setting will determine the desired look for those areas. Lip color may work well on some, but the lip shape on each skin is slightly different from the FGX 1.0 skins, so I will be producing something that allows people to customize options for any shape lip. I'm not sure how I will do that yet without releasing the master files. They may wind up as a makeup 'business in a box' package (much as I hate to do that) for lips and shadow. That will basically give a skilled photoshop user the ability produce an infinite number of makeup variations for these skins with very little effort. Still, to get those textures applied to my skins they will need to go through the current custom makeover process I now use (L$100 cost per texture with a L$300 minimum for the service). My associate, Cierrah Blair (who now does all custom skin makeovers), will have exclusive access to the raw skin textures to do that for me.

Wow - those previews look great. I can't wait to see what other models you come up with.
By the way, when do you think you'll have something ready to demo and sell?
Also, is the lip shape so different from current that a little shape adjustment wouldn't line up with the makeup? I'm not sure I'm ready to take on any makeup building in Photoshop myself - though infinite color combinations do sound intriguing - even using the current makeover process.

From: RedDawn Bade ...By the way, when do you think you'll have something ready to demo and sell? RL projects have slowed me down. I won't resume skinning until after June 15th. So, I'll probably post more images here after that date. From: RedDawn Bade Also, is the lip shape so different from current that a little shape adjustment wouldn't line up with the makeup? If I do release master files in a makeup kit, I'll also compile a list of people who bought the kit. That way people can get references from me on who to go to for custom makeovers.

From: Mercedes Pony How does one buy the kit? If I sell one, it will probably go up on SLExchange with a limit on kits sold.

Here are some experiments with texture baking some makeovers on the GX2.0 "Evie" skin (nearly complete). They are all generated from a single vector shape (even the one on the right) using complex color dodge and linear burn effects. The sample on the left is 'Tabula Rasa'. The other two (subtle/sophisticated and exotic) have textures baked over the skin layers.

Amazing work! The only thing I'm not sure about is the skin tone. It seems highly over saturated with orange, it might be the lighting though. It could benefit from a minor desaturate and slight hue alteration towards red. But that may affect the hair adversely, seeing as it's about the same color as the skin. The details are great on it though, love seeing how it's coming out.

From: Rosabelle Vieria Amazing work! The only thing I'm not sure about is the skin tone. It seems highly over saturated with orange Incredible as it may seem, the original model photos are even more deeply saturated in reds and yellows (like a bad fake tan ). I pulled the saturation down a notch to get it to where it is, and have now begun to test the color gamut in regard to pigmentation. The model's skin is very evenly toned (minus shadow fall-off), so I will be able to go a few shades lighter and darker (initial tests look good) and offer several skin pigmentations to choose from. Masking out the hair is not an issue.

Pigmentation tests

Here's what I'm considering for the range of pigmentation. The hair is not masked here, but I sort of like the darker color. Feedback is welcome!
