Wondering when the new Midnight City will open? We can't give you a date yet but we'll keep you posted :D. Until that time here's something you'll find in the new sim, the City Girls as you've never seen them before. There may be a few more of these to come :D.

Great job... Love the look and theme of the spoof. I think though there are some things you could play around with to get that more Frank Miller look if you wanted to. More graphic looking, but still very nice and a very nice tease. :)

LOL, damn everyone has been a critic since I started these. I can't copy frank miller exactly and it was just my spin on it so if it's not close enough for anyone's satisfaction just take it for what it is lol.

Hey Torrid,

Love your clothes and stuff (bought a ton) but I hated that movie.
Awful :(

Is the whole palce going to be themed that way?

Dianne

Sin City was a comicbook series published in 1991 I believe. ;) Everyone had over 10 years to get the synopsis of the movie before going to see it. Unless of course, you mean it didn't do the series justice. I am not sure how one would theme a city by it either, it's just a regular city with maybe black and white textures.

The play off of it turned out nicely I think, Torrid. Very creative and well executed. It does seem people have to critique these sort of things, especially when the style has a fairly large fan base. This is your work, not Frank Millers, and it looks great! I like the style, it let's your artistic ability shine through more than the regular snapshot. I can't wait till the new place is founded and open!

Haha nooooo the city will not be themed that way lol. These are just posters done for the movie theater :). Thank you Ryntha I enjoyed doing them, it was something very different for me :).

I don't know the cultural reference to the comic book, but when I saw the pixellation in the shots, I was reminded of Mean Streets, a classic computer game that I used to play on the Amiga. Like SL, it had a certain depth and atmosphere about it, altho it was not nearly as open-ended. ;)

Lovely art, Tor!

Hmmm... just an idea but it would be interesting if it were a semi themed area. Like create your own backstory behind Midnight City. Would be pretty interesting and fun. Not saying it has to be like Sin City... but something interesting. Always liked your area, just a very nice place.

I just thought it was a clever way to strut your stuff, much like the SLAP ad spoofs. I look forward to whatever strikes your fancy next. And of course, looking forward to the finished City.

Well, Mistress is wearing a top I made which I've never sold and pants from Nevermore, you've got the second outfit, the one aimee has on is her City Girls-Strap Happy Mini Dress, and the last outfit is Launa's fishnets and I'm not sure on the jacket so you'll have to ask her :).

Haha, I assumed that top was from one of the outfits I have from you guys (can't remember who made it) I haven't been in SL in ages *Wails* so it reminded me of it...the one with the sheer mesh over it(or maybe it was part of a bikini I have that I adore...oh well), but like I said, can't remember. I want to log in and buy :(

Well I did not mean to be rude.

But not everyone who goes to a movie is aware of the content beforehand. Even though I am a comic reader and a *huge* collector I had never seen the Frank Miller stuff.

I would also agree with the obvious, that the cinematography in Sin City is fantasticly beautiful etc. etc. and the best in many years...

I just think things like say..."Betty & Veronica" have more literary chops than Millers work. :D

I will try to get there as fast as I can, but I have to move slowly as the laces that hold my dress together are under enormous pressure. They could snap at any moment.

Frank Miller is fantastic. Sin City isn't his best work as far as I'm concerned. He did a wonderful series, The Dark Knight Returns, about batman in the near future, and run of Daredevil comics that stand out as the best ever under that title.

David, you might want to check out "300", Miller's retelling of the story of the Battle of Thermopylae. The best work he's ever done, in my opinion.

Part of the beauty that comes to mind is knowing that parts of the SL experience are getting closer to Grand Theft Auto... or GTA: Grand Theft Aimee as I like to call it. Realistic metropolitan richness now unfolds.

Thanks Aim for the cab tour, it was very spontaneous and intense, just the way I like it. And no I won't be blingin' or blongin' in the wrong places of town.

Yeah.. you girls are kicking ass with the new city.

And Torrid, your PS skills are getting better and better. I really like the way these posters turned out.

Even the Sin City reference. I loved (and own all of) the books. I even have the "Deathrow Marv" action figure. :)

Midnight City is gonna kick some ass. Good work.
