I want to buy Poser but don't know which to get.

- Poser Artist
- Poser 4
- Poser 5
- Poser 6

Which do I get for making animations for SL?

Thanks in advance :)

I've heard Artist works with SL. Since it's less expensive, if you are budget conscious, I would suggest that one. I bought Poser 5 and have had great success with using it. But it seems to have a lot of other features I haven't had the time to explore that aren't applicable to SL.

I remember reading that some people have had difficulties with Poser 6 and importing into SL. But then I think someone came up with a work around.

So I guess what I'm saying is Artist is probably best, but I have no experience but I have with Poser 5 which works well for me.

Either way, check out Ulrika's Poser Tutorial:

It helped me a lot. Good luck.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
Yes, it's true, I have a blog now!

Thanks for the reply April :)

I went to the Curious Labs website and found Artist for sale there. It is only $109 USD. Is that really a full version of Poser?

I'm also using Poser5. So I'm not sure how Poser4 works well.
But several ppl reported that Poser4 has bugs.
For example, see this thread.
I'd like to know if it is really bug or not though...

I have Poser Artist (4) and Poser 6. I prefer Poser Artist for all things SL... It's much quicker to find what I need, but then again, I've been using it for quite a while ;) Poser 6 is great for my other poser things.. If I take the time to learn abotu them.. LOL

Poser Artist is indeed a full version of Poser. It's really just Poser 4 renamed, which causes a bit of confusion. It works fine for SL animations.
