Ulrika, notice you have coming soon for intermediate and advanced, still planning those? I wanted to add to the beginner's tutorial to show how to upload files in SL with more discussion of the dialog boxes. For the intermediate and advanced tutorials, I was thinking of covering topics like inverse kinematics and how they can be used to facilitate the creation of certain types of animations; scripting objects (including code); and multiple person animations. What would you like to see in each of the tutorials? ~Ulrika~ _____________________

hmm, right now as a beginning animator with poser 5.0, anything is good
However, yes, the dialog options on upload, an explanation of those would be nice, it seemed i had to have loop on to make a 1 frame pose, which seemed wierd ![]() After that, the relations of Z in poser to Z in game, ie, i make a kneeling animation right now and my knees are a meter off teh ground in SL even though in Poser they appear on the "ground" then onto things i dont even know to ask about yet ![]() _____________________

Well now a friend of mine has Poser and I wanted to share the info, but the site doesn't seem to be there. Anyone know if there's a different url or if the information might be saved somewhere else? Thanks. _____________________

Oh no, this is really bad.
I finally decide its time to learn to make poses and animations. I get Poser. Then I come here for Ulrikas tutorial. As indicated above - it appears to be GONE. I cant find anything else to help me. It sounds to have been exactly what I needed. Is its disappearance temporary? Any one have a copy they can put up on the web or offer as a download? Can we get it included in the wiki? If all this fails - can anyone suggest how else beginner animators can set about learning the skills? Failing all that, can someone just tell me - do i need one specific poser model to build the poses and create the .bvh files from. I've already made one attempt with some model or other, and failed completely to get SL even to recognise it was a valid .bvh file. In other words - He..e..el...p ! |

I apologize for the inconvenience! We had a bad perl upgrade on our server and it took a complete reinstallation of the OS to get thing up and running again.
All the tutorials are back online. ![]() ~Ulrika~ _____________________

This thread was started by Ulrika Zugzwang, one of the more colorful posters back in the forum's old days.
Apparently she never posted in the Resident Answers forum. Best wishes, Ulrika. _____________________
