Hi - I'm trying to upload a simple BVH file (simple head side to side) but it never plays in the preview pane. When I try to play the animation, the figure does nothing, and the progress bar just stops about a third of the way along. I'm using Poser 4 and the latest version of SL.

I've tried:

- using both the skeleton figure and p2 hi male figures
- exporting then importing back into Poser then re-exporting again (setting arms to x-axis)
- setting the first keyframe as 'no change' (i.e. as per default new character) and the second as the same, then setting only 2 keyframes with changes before setting the end one back tothe default position.

what am I doing wrong? Please help!

- SM

p.s. the tutorial at http://www.ulrikasheim.org/animation/tutorial-basic.html is not currently available...

Hi Sarah,

One question, you said you set 2 keyframes, but how much total frames on your animation?

Did you import and export it by BVH file? I don't recommend you use that format while you're making. Just convert it to BVH file just before uploading to SL because BVH will make all frames set keys in Poser.

Check all keys on all parts of your avatar again.

Edit section:
If you made just 2 frames animation, did you let it loop at the preview window?
You might not be able to see it too fast. ;)

 Was that the Poser 4's problem?
Sorry, I didn't know that at all. :o

I had some problems with poser 4 for a while too - there was a specific update - I want to say 4.13 but I can't remember that fixed the upload problem.

I switched to poser 5 as well - and problem was solved.
