Due to malicious actions of someone in my RL world, I've only recently regained access to Second Life. The sad part is that this program has been released for a long while: http://caladan.nanosoft.ca/c4/software/posemaker.php The last post I made here, nearly a year ago, was just after the software was ready and just before I put it up. Since it seems that the world has gone right on past my program, and there are now several free programs that do the same thing, I may simply release this one free as well, or add features (like IK, keyframing, skinning, and the like) that the free ones lack, if the demand is still around. Not to be pushy or anything, but why not join forces and help work on Avimator? It's open source, and really good. I havn't gotten around to looking at the code yet but I've also heard it's very well done... _____________________
BTW
WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

I havn't gotten around to looking at the code yet but I've also heard it's very well done... There is also SLAT; I like it's interface a lot more than avimator, but the rest of the world disagrees with me. *giggles* Getting all the interested coders working on one project is probably a better idea than splitting efforts over 3 products, even if there are advantages to some competition. We can merge in the good bits from all products to make a nice final tool. |

Posemaker uses a lot of very proprietary libraries, and so it's not going to be seeing anything but binary releases. That would also hamper any effort to integrate it with the other programs out there.
The other thing here is that Posemaker does all I originally made it to do. That said, I don't have any objection to releasing the current version for free (in binary form), and when I get around to doing some web development, I'll move it from the paid content to the free content. |
