There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I like to take noobies to the freebe places and help them getting dressed, find new skins and hair and stuff. The most extreme makeover session happenend when I took 5 identical male standard avs to the freebe areas and watched them become individuals. I had met them on some busy sim where they gathered around me and looked at me being a cat. Oh what fun :) After a couple of minutes in the top freebe areas they had several skin colors, hairdos, clothing styles and even became different species... Being furry myelf the best thing is to accompany ppl to buy a good furry av! I like giving advice and at the end watch the metamorphoses. ;)

falling from any height high enough to *splat*, the higher the better

I've actually made a script that adds "TigroSpottystripes Katsu *splat*" to the chat history in green text whenever I fall from high enough to trigger the splat anim :P

Rowing around the waterways of Ethereal Teal or The Botanical Gardens in one of the free gondolas is strangely peaceful and relaxing, sometimes I log in and do nothing else. :)

Watching Sunset with my family on Any of the Better beaches in SL after spending a day Playing, relaxing, and Just being Silly.

I can't think of ANY pleasure in SL More satisfying than that.

The several, interesting, in-word free cinemas showing independent films. *grin* Just log on, get some virtual popcorn...make some RL...and kick back and enjoy the show with a couple friends.

It seems like something wonderful happens every time I log in. My favorite experience I can think of:

I piloted a Zeppelin into an unkown Sim. Suddenly I was surrounded by 5 furries bearing creepy Halloween cat ballons. One of them shouted, "Arrr, prepare to be boarded!" I stopped the blimp and welcomed them aboard. We exchanged greetings, and they treated me to some Monty-Python-esque phrases and antics. Soon, not realizing this Sim had an auto-return, the Zeppelin disappeared, so all of the furries and I plummeted far, far below into a river. We made our way onto the bank, where they performed several ceremonial dances around me before we parted ways.

I doubt I could have experienced anything like that in books, on drugs, or anywere. I love SL! --Avion

I've recently rediscovered my poor alt. He still had a newbie skin, etc, so it was fun to create a whole new human being and be someone totally different for a while. I got to walk around and say "Yo man" and "Hey babe"... ;) It was fun to see how differently people react to a man!

Oh, I LOVE the one about Pierre, the Zeppelin, and the Furry Pirates!!!

I had another Really Embarrassing Moment last night...my friend and I were dancing at the afterparty for the SL America's Cup. I made an adjustment to my AO while we were in the control of the dance machine.

After a minute, my friend says, "uh..." and I go, "what?"

He sends me a snapshot, and says, "This is what I'm seeing"

There we are, dancing away...but I have my head stuck up my behind!!!! I had no idea -- I looked fine to me.

I just know that someday, when I'm running for President of SL, that photo will re-surface, with the headline, "KIDD HAS HEAD UP HER..."

I do remember a similar occurance in Greenwich Village back in 1988, in Washington Square Park. Except for the Zeppelin, that is.

This thread inspired to look for a new, simple pleasure so I went for an air balloon ride in a free ballon over Caledon as a new and relaxing way to explore SL. It was so fun I decided to post some pictures in the gallery (which I hope was an OK thing to do, I haven't done that before.)

If you want to see here they are:

Most of my simple pleasures come from spending time with my inworld family, both the sweet times an the silly times. We had this awesome pillow fight the other day using both the freebie pillowfighter, an the free pillow and super collider from Pillow Talk. It was awesome. We also had some times with the violins dat Robbie Dingo sell that was jes beautiful, I tink, for alla us.

Watching the sunset at my favorite spot on Livingtree, or watching the sunride over the beach at home. Even better with friends an family, but always good.

Kayaking on a Sunday morning, or flying my kite.

Neo-Realms fishing.

Building someting, an finding out out dat other people want a copy.

Taking piccies, jes for fun.

Seeing something I've never seen before.

Each an every night I can sit and laugh while sitting at my computer, or log at night with a grin on my face.

Mari
