Yesterday I found myself following a similar pattern to many days in SL. Log In and check the Forum, Log Out and launch SL. Call up the map and go in search of that illusive plot of land (which, unlike most days..yesterday; I just might have found). So I find myself on the Old Continent (for those unsure about Continental names..check my thread entitled ‘Continent Names’). I decided to go for a flight along the many inland waterways, past the inland islands, under bridges, up valleys and over hills..and in doing so discovered a whole new way to enjoy SL. Flying flat out just inches above the water in ‘mouse look’ has to be the best fun. Hurtling along, occasionally buzzing residents on bridges, looping the loop and generally putting on something of an aerobatic display..wow!!. I even found myself thinking.. "wouldn’t this be great if a whole bunch of residents did this in a sort of 'flock', it would look so good to the bemused bystander". So that was My simple pleasure..what's yours....?

A land broker new to the game had his plots for sale in my sim covered with rotating signs. My simple pleasure was him removing them after I asked nicely and pointed out that more subtle signs were better for business and land values as a whole.

Looking out the window of my underwater house, watching the kelp sway gently with the waves. And of course the ability to breathe underwater, making the above possible.

What, you don't keep any AIR in your house? What kind of housekeeper are you? Tonight, I drove the miniature steam train on Provocative Isle and played Disney Tour Guide for a guy from Brazil, then went over to Calla's and made a couple of new friends there.

My favorite is to just pick a sim at random, or one I've never been to, and go there. I like to see what other folks have done.

I like walking the future Linden Highways - my home is on one. Also I like to swim - I have a proper swim animation (SLswim 2,0). I only fly when I have my jetpack, safety suit and crash helmet on (apart from small hops to get myself over walls etc.) If I go underwater I have an air tank!! I enjoy exploring new sims and I like to take the Conifer Special for a spin round one of the circuits at Bethel vehicle sandbox. Exploring is one of SL's simple pleasures. Also I enjoy eating at an animated dining table, although pizza gets a bit boring after a while.

I have a 30x10 skybox. It's the usual ultra plain 5 prim monster of shiny metal looking stuff, not much to look at from the outside. But inside I've turned a third of it (one of the ends) into totally transparent glass all the way around and looking out, with a simple sit pillow in the middle.
Nothing quite as wonderful as just sitting in my skybox and watching the sun set or the moon from 300m above the ground.
Then I go back into the black walled section and get to work on the tiny prims that give me so much trouble again lol.

For a while I liked to turn into a butterfly and hover around flowers in garden shops. It usually makes people laugh. Once as a butterfly I tried to hang out in a zoo to blend in with the animals, but this didn't fool the zoo keeper. "Hi, KC." she said and emoted the wink/grin. My fondest simple pleasure may have been hanging out at NCI Kuula and have some of the older residents suddenly materialize next to me as weird mythical beasts. The one high profile fellow who is often a three headed Cerberus winged creature scared the pixels out of me when he first did that! Now I am designing my dream home but that is a complicated pleasure. -- KC

I love to log my AV into a dance club and set him to dance while I hop onto my RL treadmill and just let the music play. If there's a live DJ, I can even request songs for my workout. In most of the clubs I visit, the sploders are set to go off every 600-900 seconds. Two rounds of the sploder gives me 20-30 minutes of exercise.
Sometimes, if it's a really good beat, I'll dance in front of the computer (From one who's tried it: NEVER attempt to copy the dance moves your AV can do. The human body can only bend so far.) You haven't lived till you've danced all night in a virtual club and feel it the next morning in the real world.

Hehe related to the two previously, I love to hop into my tiny siamese avie and head to a club and use the special dances for tinies I have with my jetpack and goggles on. People just don't know what to make of knee high techno chibi cats break dancing in the middle of a crowd of humans.

I sit on the patio, listening to music and looking at the ocean. Sometimes I get in the Huey and fly about....looking for shoe stores.

I'm not sure if this is a simple pleasure, and I've mentioned this before (apologies to those who've heard it), but abandoned land beautification and griefing prevention of my "neighbour" (who never logs in)'s property. In other words: junk was piling up on his land (no auto return), so I filled every prim available with what now resembles a small Japanese village.
The other simple pleasure... just sitting on my land somewhere and welcoming visitors; if newbies, helping them out.
Cheers.

They have catapillars too. Very affordable. I have put in my profile for people to watch out 'cause I'm a werebutterfly. -KC

Typing in random things into the Search > Places and TPing to lands unknown to see what others have created. Bonus when I meet some cool people out exploring as well. The butterfly av sounds awesome! I'm going to have to check your picks ~Ari

i walked down the southern continent with a friend. every day we'd make a landmark of where we stopped and start from there the next day unti we covered the whole thing. we always walked, stopping to see or talk to who/whatever we met. we met a lot of amazing talented people and became very good friends.
might be time for another walk...
