Is the new update better or worse?

I know a nice place for you.... The welcome area, next to persons who last weekend fully attacked a girl who did not have voice...

Before you make more remarks as above, you may read one of the many threads that lately have been going around about voice. Maybe you might be a bit more understanding about the different reasons people don't want voice... and those are a lot more that one you mentioned.

Ohh... and before you go off.... I have a wonderful and steady RL relation and a wonderful daughter... and as RL business woman I even have a real life.... and I also love to roleplay!

besides I loged in my male alt without voice bubble thing on and was teased for being a rl girl.

I then turned it on and said no, I have people sleeping in the next room.

I think they felt stupido for a while.

nicolaz 18a is still working sweet, with no new interfaces or such.

Actually this functionality is still there (but easily missed), and the following is one of the few features in the new UI I actually like (well, layout could be better, but the functionality is nice):

At the top of the group IM window you can see a little << button. Press it and you get a list of all the people currently in the group IM session.

At the bottom of that list is a little button with a chesspiece like depiction of a head and shoulders - clicing that will give the profile of the sellected person.

I've got a problem with it in that the eastern sky often looks like either a blank black square or a blank white square. Had this once before when I tried the Nicholaz viewer (and promptly scurried on back to the LL viewer in response).

Hate the new viewer bring back old friends list without big ass chat windows i like how SL Was orginally this new viewer sucks

The new version should come with a warning that it is impossible to use at a resolution smaller than 800 x 900 pixels. You need to dedicate an area of at least 800 x 300 pixels just to being able to communicate via chat or IM in text, where with the old UI a space 600 x 72 pixels would suffice.

Functionally? If you have a huge screen and can ignore the amount of screen real estate that the Chatterbox demands, and if you ignore the extra clicking required to use common features like Friends list or IM's... well it does work. It just has a really BAD user interface for communicating with anything OTHER than Voice!

wow who ever thought changing the chat history, IM, and friends into the same window/button really didn't do any of the users a favor. I used to monitor chat history while I IMed a friend the way they have it set up now if I'm in IM I wont know if some one is talking to me in chat this is real poor functional design and why the minimal hight setting on the window that they do give you its way to big they should give us the option to use the old style of chat/IM/Friends in my opinion. And I hope that by not setting up voice I wont have to hear all the sophomoric bantering people will be doing so they can be noticed (gestures are bad enough sometimes) or do I have to mute everyone that uses voice and if I mute the voice will they be able to chat or IM with me.

Yes, there are kinks, but there are kinks in a TON of the code--code having nothing to do with voice. That's only natural when you have millions and millions of lines of code.
