Like allot of others, my sales were reduced after the update last week by up to 50%. Had a very bad weekend, but from Monday until now everything is back to normal, tickety boo, hunky dory. So I dont think the change in the default setings within the search options was the cause at all. Im assuming its lag, grid performace, got only knows what else, but whatever the problem was it is resolved as far as im concernred. Just glad I didnt go out and pay an extortionate amount for a plot of PG land as I was very close to doing so.

Is everyone else noticing their sales returning to normal this week?

There's some deeper meaning here.

If the difference between checked and unchecked is resulting in "Financial Ruin"... I have to wonder... who are your customers?

I suppose it's the magnitudes game. 1x landlords, 10x shopkeepers, 100x land owners and 1000x regular basics', and 10,000x newbies&tourists. A 'successful' business would target the higher volume 'groups', .. at least the highest volume that has money in world, which means those tourist and newbies with $.

So if those ignorant nearly-newbies can't figure out how to use Search correctly and it 'ruins' you... what will you do if:

LL implements closed registration again, which will seriously reduce the amount of 'new blood' coming into SL?

If SL's population growth slows down resulting in a drop off in new residents?

If LL makes some other unexpected policy changes?

It sounds like you're profiting off of the transient short timers! No, I do not have a problem with that, but you've got to realize you're in a precarious position. If something this miniscule flips your boat over what are you going to do when something more major occurs?

You know 'change' is never far off, especially in the online realm.

well said. my comment was meant as smart alecky(i know i know bad bad maggie) however this is probably one of many reasons why. but im with the mind set of others who have been here longer that its because the weather is warmer, its tax season and spring breakers are out having fun. just ride it out....:)

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

So.. we're only talking about the "after a clean install" setting?

Okay really I think this might be making too big of an issue over something very trivial.

Retraction time. I have installed 1.14 (had to, couldn't get a script to compile).....

The [ ] Mature setting does NOT persist. I am not pleased about that.

I have gone ahead and created a "Feature Suggestion" in the new JIRA system.. to have this setting made persistent.

Search: "[ ] Include Mature Content" setting should persist between sessions
