This is a two part question.
First of all, today I was watching a youtube video (very disturbing) where Robin Linden was shown kiddie porn that was being transfered through SL in a p2p fashion. Sadly, I had to watch the disgusting German report with depictions of avatar ageplay sex...how vile. All I wanted to see was what Robin Linden looks like because I heard she was in the video. lol It also shows (partially) the building in California known as Linden Lab. I'm not going to post a link to it because I feel it is inappropriate. The link is in a not too distant thread in Resident Answers though if you are curious.
Anyways, after seeing Robin Linden, and feeling bad for her having to face reporters over this, I wondered what other Lindens look like. I did a Youtube search for Torley Linden. I saw some tutorials by him. He seems eager, helpful, fun, and pleasant sounding. Then I looked up Teeple Linden to continue my stalking of the Lindens, but didn't find anything by him on Youtube. However, after a Google search I found something in the Second Life Herald (dated September 26, 2006) which involves him somehow. I didn't read the whole thing. What did catch my eye is the black, Playboy advertisement on the right of the page which says Playboy is coming to Second Life on June 07. Here and here are the links to see the Playboy/SL advertisement. Here are my two questions.
(1) Where can I find RL pictures/videos of the Lindens that they posted of themselves? If this is inappropriate for Resident Answers just send me the links in a forum Private Message or in world IM. I'm not actually stalking them, I'm just curious. lol
(2) Is Playboy already a presence in Second Life? Is that ad old news? Does it have anything to do with the age verification process that is coming?
Ok, maybe more than 2 questions, but I would appreciate any answers.
~Thank you~

Since you mentioned Torley, here's the pic: http://torley.com/aboutAs for Playboy, it's been public knowledge for a few days, not long. You're not too late to the table on this one. Now, my question is--what was wrong with Gaybot?. I thought it was a cute name. Kam

~Thank you~ Considering all the nudity and outragous outfits in second life those playboy girls wont stand out at all they look no different then the models in half the stores in sl. I wonder if they realize they will be labled adult? And will be relegated to the new porn areas of sl? Well cant say I feel glad to see them ... sorry . Porn is not my thing and porn magazines are degrading to women in my opinion. Elinah

Playboy in SL is kind of a joke.
Does Heffner really think he'll get his Playmates to cyber for US$4/hr?
It's an important step in the corporate evolution of SL...and I'm sure it will be popular (at least at the beginning)...but I have no plans to visit the spot. I tend to avoid the adult themes in SL. I'm also going to doubly avoid them once age-verification goes live.

Here's an excellent picture of Pathfinder with a statue of his avatar: All the Linden staff willing to have their real life pictures made public should get pictures along these lines made - nice pictures of themselves together with good shots of their avatars.

Heh, well, that and in SL, almost all the women have created themselves to look like 'playmates', so where's the enticement? When anyone can look like that and 50% of the residents will be just as 'buxom', I don't know why playboy would bother. eh

Kam A Linden emailed me and said the community found it offensive...lol..whatever. It's kind of interesting because in one of my old statements involving sexual ageplay months ago, I stated "If LL one day decides that Gaybots are no longer allowed on the grid, then I'm going to have to find a new name or leave". I used it as an example for changes in policy LL may or may not make in the future. Well, here I am doing that now. It's ok. At least they got back to me, eventually, and let me change my first name to what I wanted. From: SuezanneC Baskerville That's a cute picture of Robin.
I like Pathfinder's avatar. I've never seen it before, but it reminds me of something from the Wizard of Oz. Oh, I want one of those necklaces too!

I'm so glad you got to change your name to what you wanted! Finally. And glad they got back to you about it! Finally. What I don't get is what the heck is so offensive about it? Is there something about "Gaybot" I don't know? Some kind of movie reference, maybe? So I looked it up on Urban Dictionary, and found this: 1. gaybot a homosexual who can have sex for many hours without feeling the strain or getting tired like some sort of machine. Steve: "Yeah so I was having sex with Jason last night and my god he had a boner for hours, we didn't stop. He was like some sort of gaybot." 2. gaybot A person that has been playing the same online FPS game for over one year that fails to improve his/her skill level. I can't believe that gaybot still sucks at 1942. 3. gaybot Used in many forms. As seen below; laura:''dont have a gaybot attack jess'' dont go all gaybot on me youre such a big gaybot this website is a gaybot lets all be merry lezerbijan gaybots Um, okay. So, like I was saying, what's so offensive about it? I thought Gaybot was pretty cute. Y'all may know I'm older than the average koala, so if there is something cool and wicked about "Gaybot" that even Urban Dictionary doesn't know, please let me in on it. Otherwise, I will have to assume that this is pure insanity on the part of the Lindens. Pure insanity, nothing more, nothing less. Did I mention - complete and utter insanity? Oh - and let me add, stupidity. I have a girlfriend named Gay whose brother IS gay. I simply cannot comprehend what is so offensive about either one. coco P.S. I wonder if there is anything wrong with "Cocoanut." Coco, a nut. NUT. BAD WORD!

Arent bots those things that troll the real estate listings and grab anything priced incorrectly? So a gaybot is a gay one? That is what I thought of when read the name.
What is a gaybot?

I'm thinking of the cartoon "masters of the universe" remember with he-man. There was this weird floating wizard guy - now what was his name - I think they introduced in the second season.

Allowing Playboy model avatars into SL only puts pressure on the female community by setting unrealistic standards for appearance. Those bodies are unrealistically acheivable for the majority of SL females.

Actually, I'm sure that "old farts" like me easily recognized the very first version of a male Black Mage (circa 1987) from Final Fantasy series

From: Hydra Zenovka I'm thinking of the cartoon "masters of the universe" remember with he-man. Pathfinder Linden's avatar is of Final Fantasy origin. Specifically, the Black Mages. If I had to narrow it down even further, I'd say has avatar is the character from FFIX, Vivi Orunitia. From: Racal Hanner Anyone Know where I can get a RL SL necklace/pendand like Pathfinder is wearing?. I would love one of those. If you went to a toy/figurine/video game specialty shop in Japan you may come across one. Otherwise, you'd have to resort to having one custom made or finding a die hard Final fantasy collector willing to part with and sell his official Squaresoft memorabilia outside of Japan. You could probably find a figurine or a plush toy of that character if you look hard enough.Edit: Heh, Fixxit managed to post the answer before I did. But I got the links and the name of the specific character though!!
