I really doubt First look is going to be stable enought to be on the main listing of viewers...........Mind you there is unprovent LLabs reports taht they wil make the first look client OPTIONAL viewer for some..................Well I have not heard any of this infor Steven Linden or even Joshua .......... The more and More I bug report the more and more I can`t believe they are really going to release this thing.

It would be the first time in LL's history if they allowed us to continue using an old viewer even one second after they release a new one. As soon as the new one is official, I'll bet the old one will be impossible to log in with. No official relase notice yet, and it's not available for download except as the last "First Look" viewer, which supposedly is identical in all but version number... |

One more clarification: 1.14.0 will initially be an *optional* viewer update, however once we have verified that it is at least as stable as 1.13.3 we will make it mandatory, likely some time later this week. http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/03/26/1140-viewer-update-postponed-until-tuesday-morning-preview-available/#comment-171969 Voluntary first, mandatory later. If anyone is interested I have a collection of view installers going back almost 4 years. Mind you I don't have the 4.5 GB required to host it. So if anyone wants a particular installer, I'll find post it on one of the public download sites.

That is impressive strife, but how would we expect to get those viewers to even work anymore? the updater would refuse to let you log in unless you have the current version.

Ceera, I do remember times when I have been offered optional viewer downloads, usually on an "off day". Then when it came to Update Wednesday that optional viewer frequently became mandatory. These were typically bug fix updates for serious problems. Well, if you do multiple login configurations, they are all mandatory, since the forced "we have a new viewer you can download!" dialog on every single login breaks any attempt to do a multi-session login. Until I switch to single-user mode and install the supposedly "optional" version, I can't work in multi-session mode. _____________________
