Buying Lindens wtf?

Just to add my name to the Linden buying problems pile. I tried to buy on the website yesterday and today. I get an erroneous message about my credit card which I know is still valid.

Since I'm not willing to give them any more of my info I might just give up my land and call it quits.

Wait until Monday and see if they get it fixed. They probably just don't want us buying an naughty body attachments this weekend. Hope the below posts helps, but I doubt it.

Our intermittent Lindex purchase errors today have brought us to the conclusion that we will need to shut off in world Lindex transactions for the weekend. What does this mean exactly?

-You will not be able to purchase Lindens in the viewer this weekend

-You will not be able to complete a purchase in world if you do not have sufficient balance to purchase the item

-You WILL be able to purchase Lindens through the Buy L$ page of the web site: https://secondlife.com/currency/buy.php

-You WILL be able to purchase items with your available L$ balance

We will update on Monday with the in world purchasing status as soon as we are able.

SOOOOOO very very wrong.

I've put through a ton of land tier and other payments this month. I even ended up buying Linden for my partner, with him paying me back by PayPal (yes I know this loses cash in the transaction but he's my baby).

I am not optimistic that this issue is about to be fixed. SL is seriously borked at the moment and people will simply stop playing.

LL - clear out the dead accounts and crap. We all know they are still there. I am sitting at work opposite the av known as Asa Hulka, who registered an account - flew around for an hour - then realised he had no idea what to do and never logged on again!!!

Maybe once you've gotten rid of those people with no actual input to SL other than as a dead piece of data you can start to fix the issues happening to your actual customers.

Jaded and bitter and LINDENLESS despite my bank account being perfectly healthy!!

Count me in as one of the people who can't buy Linden Dollars....not even on the website. I'm happy I'm not a vendor because i know they must have lost a lot of money. I wonder if they will be compensated by Linden Labs for lost sales?

Your post reminded me of the two different vendor dialogue boxes, pay and buy. Buy automatically sets the price but pay is editable. I just wondered if it was a pay and you overlooked the sum entered.

In a word - no.

I also tried to purchase L$ using the "Buy L$" link on the SL web site twice today (via PayPal) without any luck, even though the blog states "You WILL be able to purchase Lindens through the Buy L$ page of the web site." I haven't had any problems using my current L$ balance to purchase things inworld. As far as buying L$ from SL Exchange goes, I purchased some last week without any problems. Hopefully LL will fix the LindeX later today.

It was a buy set at the amount so no I did not have to type in the amount and the seller imed me back and didn't tell me anything I already have not tried.

Still not able to buy lindens either , I though they were fixing that today and I don't see anything in the blog about this matter either or all the crashes everyone is expierencing and also my CC is not expired so I should be able to purchase any amount of lindens I wish but unfortunately I cannot so its LLs fault and so is my land if I loose that and no I am not switching CCs or using paypal, I shouldn't have to with a perfectly fine credit card on file!

Still frustrated in waiting for this, but I was more concerned over the post elsewhere in this forum from someone who said their account got charged but he/she didn't receive the lindens. I rushed to check my bank account and my transaction history... you don't know how many times I've "attempted" to buy lindens since the upgrade. All I could imagine was my account getting hit for each one of these attempts.

I had problems purchasing L$ through the website over the weekend, too. What I did was choose the Update Payment Information and re-entered my credit card info. It looked like they had my nickname down for "name on card" and I use my full name. I know that was correct when I entered the info the first time, so I don't know how it got changed. After I re-entered my info I was able to buy again. Don't know if anyone else's problems are related, but purchasing was working fine for me up until last week, so I know it was nothing I changed.

They changed my name on the card info page also. The name on my card is the more formal spelling of my first name, and I believe that I must have signed in to activate my LL account using the "affectionate" form of name, and credit card info using full name.

The card had been successfully used up through the end of May, so I assume that the LL folks went through and changed all cardholder names to match with LL account names since that time.

Well they just took money off my CC for my annual premium so why can't I buy lindens with my CC on file???? SMELLS a rat!

I finally was able to purchase Lindens on the website. I had to re-enter all my credit card data (same card) *and* I got a call from the credit card company about 5 minutes after I finally finished the purchase (the charge had to be authorized). Methinks the credit card companies are taking a new interest in SL's business dealings.

I still can't buy with either a cc or paypal. I've tried resetting my paypal agreement and then purchasing from both in game and the website... nothing. I tried the same thing with a Visa debit card... same one that I've used with success in the past and nothing there either.

I know how you feel. I'm lucky I rent from my father as my rent is due asap v.v I re-entered my paypal info like 4 times and nothing v.v Please sort it LL ^^

I know this is getting quite rediculous. I'm a business owner and sales have been down since most (but not all) haven't been able to purchase L$.

I also need to purchase L's but I have the same problem, resetting my paypal agreement and everything. I'd go through SLExchange but I hate the idea of having to wait 3-4 days. I just wish LL would post even a blog update on the problem instead of keeping us all in suspense and frustration.

My PayPal account somehow got labeled as 'restricted' by Linden Labs. Actually, they claim they didn't do it and can't fix it, yet PayPal says there's absolutely nothing wrong with my account on their end. Given the fact that my PayPal account works everywhere else I've tried it, including SLExchange, and the endless billing problems LL seems to be having lately, guess which one I believe?

I finally gave up trying to get Support to pull their fingers out of their ears and just gave them my PayPal not-actually-a-credit-card Mastercard...it links to my PayPal account, not directly to a bank, and seems to work just fine so far.

Although my sales were down the day of the blog post, they rebounded the very next day and are fine now. It seems that the linden buying problem wasn't why my sales were down. According to people I've asked there was just generally a lot of lag that day; I wouldn't know because I didn't log in.

I'm not sure why it would take this long...every time I've purchased Lindens from SLExchange, the transaction was pretty much instantaneous.
