Buying Lindens wtf?

Anyone else get the message cannot buy lindens right now? Also I was just at a store and buying a $320 Item and I had $356L in my account so I wanted the item but didn't want to be broke either so thats when I figured I would buy some lindens well shit out of luck there and the system only took $200 for the $320 item and I got nothing but lost $200L..........sheesh so much for an enjoyable evening...signing out for the weekend!!

Are you using Paypal as payment method? I've heard of this happening before. As for your L$200 .. IM the vendor. Chances are you'll get it back.

No I got credit card on file , been the same for close to a year now. I imed the vendor, no reply as of yet.

I intermittently get a message about not being able to buy Lindens, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes when I log back in they have appeared.

As for your trouble with the vendor, this is something I feared would happen with the asset issues they're having.

I have been having PayPal problems for the past two days. Still nothing coming to me. I need the money too. I hope it gets straightened out.

I tried buying Lindens direct too...and nothing. Very frustrating!

Same here... I posted in my own thread yesterday. I'm using Paypal and haven't been able to buy lindens since the upgrade. I'm not looking forward to a weekend without cash to spend

I was thinking of switching my billing info over to a cc again, but I see from the OP that whatever this is, its affecting both options.

Also I had an issue with not getting something I purchased the day before the upgrade, luckily it was only a $30 candle. I purchased three things at the same shop, I got 2 out of 3. I didn't bother to contact the shop owner for such a small amount since I knew from reading the blog that it wasn't his fault.

wow. i wasn't expecting the credit card comeback. i'm more accustomed to failed Lindex transactions due to Paypal. i'm reluctant to ask for annoying you further (i'm sure you checked this anyway) but if the cc has been on account for year, it hasn't expired or anything has it?

if this doesn't fix itself quickly, i'd have over to SLExchange and buy your Lindens there instead. your call obviously. some people are reluctant to do that, others would use SLX over the Lindex any day.

It's apparently wide spread. I too have been trying for two days to buy L$'s and nothing... I opened a 'ticket'... no reply.

For those in any desparate need to add L$, here's an additional tip. After several failed attempts through LindeX, I took the advice of this thread and signed up and verified with SLExchange. Clicked their link on how to purchase L$, which first says to fund your SLX account with US$. Fine, I go through the steps to do that, using Paypal as the medium.

Once the confirmation came back fine, I get the big red disclaimer that all new transactions are held for 2 to 4 days to prevent fraud loss. Great. I can understand their reasoning, but I wish they'd told me that up front. Now I've got $40 floating out in space and an upcoming tier payment due on my land.

Guess I'll have to email the SIM owner and explain why I might possibly be in arrears in a couple of days.

Not knocking SLX, by the way, just that it would be common courtesy for a new account holder to be warned of that fact prior to submitting a payment to them.

on my paypal account, where i have the link to "Transfer Funds From a Bank Account in the United States", right next to it it says "Processing Time - 3-4 Business Days". this is BEFORE anything is done.

That doesn't count if your Paypal account is carrying an active balance and on my Premium account the transfer from Paypal to LL is instant and its Paypal that waits 3-4 business days for the bank transfer. The person I'm paying is paid instantly...

I recall something somewhere in an FAQ list about a delays in buying lindens.

Its down to the linden exchange being on a separate server. They did suggest loging out and back in as a work around.


I'm considering buying lindens off Ebay??? Anyone got any experience of this??

SLEXchange, as far as I know, is the only LL-approved (or, at least thus far, not DISapproved) alternate means of buying L$.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll go with what I have and then just stop spending. I'm tired of losing things I've bought, anyway.

Use search for some relevant threads.

Unless you're willing to risk loosing your money and a possible account closure, ebay isn't a viable alternative.

If the ebay seller obtained their L$ in a dishonest manner, LL will consider you as part of the scam for buying them and forfeit up to 150% of what you bought.

Give it another try folks, while I couldn't get lindens for love or money this afternoon, and still can't get them *in game* (see blog post following) it looks like they might have fixed the website. I'm now a couple thousand L$ richer =D

Hasn't worked for me either.

Oh well, didn't really expect it to be fixed anyway. LL had to have a "Weekend issue that can't be fixed until Monday because the Tao of Linden doesn't let us fix things on the weekend" issue.

Therefore, I'll not be spending any money this weekend, and I'll use the weekend to reconsider whether or not I'm going to buy the $35,000 Lindens I was going to use to buy a piece of property that I was considering purchasing.

Hm, I wish they had gotten a blog post about the problem up sooner. I was wondering why sales were so low today.

I've just tried to buy some items with in-world cash and I couldn't purchase anything. I'm trusting that the money I had in my balance yesterday is still there today, even though my balance isn't showing. This is going to get the retailers going up the wall and for once I can't blame them. Poor show LL!

The last time I logged in (5 days ago), I had $3,000 Lindens that I had just bought on LindEx. I just logged in now to see that I have NEGATIVE 6,000 Lindens. And I'm pissed that every time I have a problem with this damn company, it happens on the weekend, when they refuse to do anything about it.
