I am not a "he" i'm a she. Secondly, my name has nothing to do with this. Lastly, if you want to see who's responsible and what he's done, just go check it out for yourself.

What a lot of grumpy replies. It seems as though for a memorial, build/no autoreturn is necessary, at least for a time.

Jesse Malthus was a young player, very bright and very friendly, who was tragically killed in an auto accident a few weeks or so ago.

Took a peek, there were about 8 people there with the first name roflcopter.
All of them created on the same day (5/5/2007)
And according to find there's a lot more than just 8.... almost 100 created that day.

Those would be Jesse's LibSL buddies standing guard, if only in a robot sort of way, over his memorial. I find it fitting, and touching. We all mourn loss in our own way. Jesse's mother was there when I visited. She seems keen to explore this world that he loved, and she seems to be getting on pretty well. It's Second Life. And situations like this just show us that it isn't all that far removed from first life, and how fragile that is. I wasnt trying to sound dismissive - just a subversive is usually someone that paints grafitti not the other way around. I am sorry if I sounded critical.
Its very unfortunate Jesse died, and tragic he died so young.
And its a shame people would deface his memorial in SL.
Didn't mean anything negative.
Hopefully its all cleared up -hopefully you have a better evening.

lolz okay honestly you dont have much sympathy for much if its a memorial build is turned off and autoreturn is off for a reason see its kinda hard to leave flowers and candles etc with those two elements turned on. I recommend the usage of your head and possibly any greymatter next time before posting such nonsense. Go play golf or some other game in second life. If you pay attention you will see that certain things need to be ON in order for you to be able to actualy perform certain activities.

In which case you have to accept missuse by a minority as par for the course (was that a golfing metaphor!? Whoops!).

I can understand your comments, but at the end of the day SL is full of idiots, wankers, griefers etc so I think if you want a memorial to remain untouched then restrictions to the land are necesary. Admitedly people cannot pay respects by leaving objects but at least the memorial will not be vandalised. Maybe tribute objects should be sent to the owner of the land and they can place them at the memorial without them being auto returned. Trusting the integrity of SL's griefers not to deface a momument is just naive, especially as it's getting the reaction the griefers hoped for. Any time a grief attack gets documented in the forum then its a victory to them, they got a reaction and thats what is is all about for them.

Edit: or what about a script which only allows one object per avatar to be dropped within a certain radius? anything > 1 is returned.

This is a PERFECT example of why SL needs age verification.

From: someone This is a PERFECT example of why SL needs age verification. Because it is logically impossible for an 18 year old to commit virtual vandalism? From: Philip Rosedale Linden Lab is working on a voluntary age verification procedure. Although under-18s are not allowed to register, in practice it is almost impossible to prevent them.
