What are these sites? I'm way out of the loop here.

LOL profile sites for those in BDSM/Fetish/Alternative lifestyles have a look in my profile for more details ;) We both started about the same time tho we have different styles we are an open community more myspace/facebook, the other site is more a closed community, take a look im sure that you wont be disappointed ;)

We have half a sim here as a playground as an extension to our RL website where our members can come and have fun in a 3D extension to it :) In the next few weeks we hope to have a whole sim sorted as long as this continues to work here :)

Interesting - I know members of the UK scene have come to SL (mainly they've panicked and scuttled back to IRC!).

We decided that it would be a good idea to have a 3D environment that complimented our profile website where our members could come and play if they wanted to and members from SL could make use of our free profile website as well :) We even created an SL members group and forum section on bdsm-life :)

We also have fully featured audio/video chat on our site plus loads of other exciting features all free to use, but SL is by far a better environment for 3D interaction :)

Warmest

My Evening in Gor - What a Delight!
08-28-2008 06:39
I was the OP to ask - what's the difference between BDSM and Gor? I believe I have at least a partial answer first hand.

One of the folk who saw my question gave me a tour of a part of the Gorean lands yesterday evening. What a delight! The sims are beautiful. The people are friendly. It seems to be a fun RP. :-)

I am sure both BDSM and the Gorean community are huge and diverse, and I haven't seen a representative part of either, but .... my evenin in Gor was such a delightful surprise I couldn't help posting this response.

I hadn't expected much due to all the negative things I had heard of Gor. This was a case where I was delightedly surprised.

What is different? Based on my two brief experiences - EVERYTHING! they seem to be two totally different worlds.

Since you're not being insulting in THIS thread I sadly have to join the ranks of people who have said you're just trying to provoke.

I'm not trying to provoke.

My evening in Gor was a pleasant surprise. I had heard so many negative things about Gor, and the experience was very positive.

In the thread discussing BDSM, I learned many things about BDSM that surprised me and made me re-examine some of my basic values. There were many more surprises for me in the discussion of BDSM thani n the evening in Gor. I could not have anticipated that the dom/sub relationship has such tender, caring qualities for so many involved. I had thought of it as more ceneterd on what pleased the dom, rather than charging the dom with the responsibility of acting in the best interests of the sub.

True, I have always known that relationships are diverse in any lifestyle. I would not have guessed that people interested in acting in the best interest of others would be drawn to the lifestyle of a dom. I am sure that this is no surprise to those of you who are involved in the BDSM lifestyle.
