maybe I'm just losing my mind but I had massive vuja-de for SL at the Newark NJ airport yesterday. The big glass elevators on the parking deck made me feel like that smooth drop down and land your avatar can do and the air train (automatic elevated electric train) made me feel like I was flying over someone's airport build.
have any of you experienced places where you feel as if you were your avatar?

From: Distilled1 Rush yes many. man many times and many diffrent places. OK, Hon. You are scaring me. IF SL even comes NEAR resembling Newark, I'm gone. So fast you will see skid marks.

I was flying home last night (in an airplane) and looking down at the midwest cut into sims. Then we flew into the clouds and it was just like the cloud layer in SL.
The two worlds are merging more and more for me every day. I was actually returning from a private family island in RL! And couldn't wait to hang out in my beach house in SL!

Obviously I'm not the only one with this affliction. I got addicted to SL over a three day weekend, and during that time was in-world almost constantly. On the first day after, I was standing at the commuter train station and looking around at all the AVs.

My RLer sometimes dreams of having a sky platform above the house and garden. My first build when I came to SL was a garden shed based on that belonging to my RL agent! I wonder if SL will actually begin to influence RL builds and products in the way that small mobile phones used on Star Trek influenced the design of real mobiles a decade or more later. One way SL could influence RL is in dance steps - I can imagine RLers at meet-ups hoofing away on dancepads and doing the SL standard walk as they navigate the venue. Actually most RLers would probably be happy to sit in camp chairs, I'd guess.

Bangkok.
People building stuff, tearing it down, building again. Lots of half built stuff left empty. Giant advertising hoardings. A huge 3-headed elephant.......And lots of the prettiest girls are really guys.

NO - nothing in RL reminds me of SL. RL graphics are light years beyond anything I've seen in SL - and it's got that dirty smelly entropy plug in activated too. Leaves little to the imagination. That's why I like SL. -- KC

Yes, but breakfast at the Peninsula Hotel, and maybe tea at the Oriental later makes it soooo different and real - I'd take Bangkok over SL any day! Though, I'd do without the smell of the river and the oppressive heat...

I believe Alyx (Sands) already mentioned this somewhere on this forum, but then again ...
Well, a few months ago, we were at an Ikea furniture market. There, I saw a large sofa with a very small, round, blue cushion on it. I pointed at the cushion and said: "Look! A poseball!" - which was exactly what it looked like ...

Imogen I can confirm that... RL shopping malls remind me a lot of SL. Only the avatars are uglier

Buildings? Not really. But once I saw two perfect cubes made of stone to block cars from entering a narrow road. They were also the right size and covered in wood. Too bad I didnt have a camera with me. I could have taken a shot of me staring at them and pointing with my left hand! Or sitting on it

Whenever I see an intersting or attractive looking person, I find myself thinking that they would make a great avatar.
I'm still wondering whats going to happen when our township crashes.
Will the USA have to do a rolling restart after the next presidential election?
The lag around here seems to be getting steadily worse, especially first thing in the morning, right after I get up. LOL

I was at a club a few weekends ago. It'd been awhile and I needed to dance. Found myself looking for the contest board.

There's this very strange arch-thing in Hillsboro on the way into work from where I live, and when I look at it, it reminds me of something someone might make in Second Life.
