They'd better hurry up with my werewolf avatar and my damn spaceship, then. And this so-called terminal crash REALLY sucks. I've heard after this "death" thing...people aren't able to log on again...I'm a bit worried by THAT.
And this currency exchange thing they have...MAN...that's a real dog. Working for money? Where the hell's the fun in THAT?
These GodLab people clearly have NO idea what they're doing.
I sure as hell hope the Norse Pantheon...or somebody else buys them out so we can get this mess straightened up.

actually, it is a scientific theory that this is a 'holographic universe' that our immortal selves have created to inhabit temporarily. The best reason I have come up with for why did we create this universe with its entropy, decay and general malaise is so that our immortal selves can experience the rush of doing things that are dangerous, being brave, experiencing love that you know will eventually crumble...

Sorry to break the existential bubble but are are probably nothing more than the imaginary creations of a sick twisted mind. Probably Jumpman's.

Wouldn't we have a better understanding of Jumpanese, then?

I always wanted to go to Oz after I read Number of the Beast. :)

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

What you've suggested is actually the exact premise of the SL novel "Anima".

My personal favorites are Time Enough For Love and To Sail Beyond The Sunset.

I will have to look for that SL novel mentioned above. I was unaware. Thanks ;)

What if our real lives (RL) were actually the second life (SL) of someone else?

What if we were being controlled and driven and manipulated by another being so to speak..

maybe.... we.... are....

I'd have to confront my creator and ask this being why its such a piss poor storyteller. Why, with the power to create a whole universe would you give me such a mundane existence? I would request a major rewrite. Something with flying cars, traveling around the world and bitch slapping people who use words like "evoo" and say things like "touch base" and "suicider".

From: Brenda Connolly
How about this? Our Avatars are real and are controlling what we are perceiving to be Real life.

I suppose Teeny's creator would ask where the hell Teeny was for the first 40 years before SL. :D

Ooh! I had forgotten Have Spacesuit... and I only just read that, too. And please, Stranger in a Strange Land.

Of course, having found SL - I am perforce reading Snow Crash ;)

I'm not hip enough to be a ghost in the Machine, or a pod dweller of the Matrix. I'm probably a clone from the Paranoia RPG. That explains why I've cheated death a few times but still have an odd sense of foreboding.

And in spite of the huge effect Heinlein has had on my social circle, I haven't read any of his stuff yet. Where should I start? (please don't sue me, LOL)

Oh Brenda - just pick one and start reading! It is all great. Time Enough is beautiful and many of them mesh and flow from one to another.

Podkayne of Mars will forever change your views of fairies - Starship Troopers is excellent - and not even close - other than the Bugs - as far as the movie. It caused a lot of contraversy when it came out. Stranger in a Strange Land - so you will Grok RH's ideas.

Start anywhere -

I know I'm not being controlled by someone because I don't have a huge schlong. If myself and every guy I knew had a huge schlong and all the women were beautiful with large breasts, then I would be suspicious.
