I own a 8K sqm area in a single SIM and a few 512-1024 sqm plots in different sims, they are all in mainland.
I don't thrust island owners....I don't thrust LL neither but I prefer them at the moment in land management possesion guarantee terms.
I have my house and a store in my main parcel and the best I can do to keep peace with my neighbours is maintaining good relationts. I have even made some "common building styles" and sharing traffic deals to promote friendship and common profits. And with those that I have not comercial deals, I keep good relations so they can tell me if something in my land bothers them and viceversa.
So, in resume, my experiences in mainland are great at this time.
