I haven't had much luck with making friends in the new comer friendly places but over time I have made few friends.
Some friends I have met here, some from hanging out at regular places but these days I must admit its been hard to find where I want to hang out.
So now I am focusing on my free time if there is something going on is to go to events I find of interesting.
