ca,nt buy lindens

i have,nt been ableto buy lindens in or out of world for over a week , because i am a basic member i ca,nt submit a support ticket , my credit card is good and all details are correct , LL has accepted it as payment info and my profile says "payment info used".i have looked at all the answers in the support pages but ca,nt have access to the support system so any ideas where to go next ?
Sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum.

Your fellow Residents can't really help with this but you CAN submit a ticket, you just need to use the 'Special Questions - Basic account or Guest Login' ticket type once you've logged in or you won't get an answer. Log in at the bottom of this page: https://www.secondlife.com/community/support.php

Edit: None of the additional options are for Billing, but you aren't required to select one so I wouldn't. Just make sure you note that it's a Billing issue in the Summary.

Another thought: have you tried deleting and re-entering your credit card info? I've heard that's helped quite a few people.

Also call your credit card company to make sure they are allowing the charges -- the phone number is usually on the back of the card.

Many credit cards that once worked with SL have now started rejected charges because of the high rate of credit card fraud associated with SL.

Calling your credit card company and making sure they allow the charges only takes maybe 5 minutes, so it's probably best to start there before going crazy trying to get help from LL. :)

i allready called my bank , they say they have,nt stopped it.I tried submitting a ticket , lets see if LL bothers to read it because no "special question" has been selected

they dont read or reply to those support tickets I have tried twice you dont even get an automated response to say you got it. In other words it seems to end up in the junk mail folder of theirs

For basic members there appears to be no support even though being premium actually means nothing anymore due to lack of perks (I dont consider basic support to be a "perk" basic account real world dollars spends just as well on the lindex so I guess they dont want their money or something?)

Anyhow just to let you know that yes there is a special and guest portal but the end result is NOTHING no answers my tickets are up to this day and were submitted weeks ago :)

Another way of bullying residents to become "premium" eh , maybe thats my problem , i was a premium member but downgraded because my land is on private sims and i coul.,nt see the point of premium membership.

I was also premium till april when it came up for renewal. Since I never buy mainland land and live on estate land the only perk was the stipend which for me was 500L but I still didnt see the point in it all. I have only ever had one support issue in my entire SL time which occured after I downgraded. As I said I dont consider basic support to be something that only premium members should get, but no I have never received a reply of any kind /shrug

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. You can log in as a guest, yes, but I was referring to the actual ticket type when you've logged in as the problem avatar.



If a Basic account chooses another ticket type, LL has specifically said that they will ignore it.

Really? And the system took it? :confused: The red asterisk beside 'Ticket Type' indicates you have to select something, and Basics are only supposed to use the 'Special Questions' one. The next drop down menu is meant to further clarify the issue, but it doesn't have an asterisk, so that was the one I was suggesting you ignore.

I tried 3 cc's and still no luck, slexchange worked for me though. I'll be buying $L from there as of yesterday.

Credit Card Failure

My credit card failed, but I know it's good. What happened?

The most common reasons for credit card failure are usually from one of these things:

* The credit card number was entered incorrectly.
* The billing address wasn't entered, or was entered incorrectly. It should be the same address on your bill.
* The name on the card was not entered, or wasn't entered as it's printed on the card.
* The credit card isn't in the list of accepted payment methods (we currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, or PayPal)
* The CVC (also called a CSC) 3- or 4-digit code wasn't entered, or was entered incorrectly.
* The card is expired, or the expiration date was entered incorrectly.
* There are no funds available on the credit card to validate it. We send a US$1.00 authorization to ensure that a credit card is valid. While this isn't a billing, the card must have at least US$1.00 available on it to pass validation.
* Your monthly payment limit is reached, and/or your bank isn't authorizing any more transactions.
* If you're outside the US, your card may not be set up for international/overseas transactions (very common with Visa Electron).

If you feel that none of these apply to you, you should contact your credit card provider to determine the cause.

Hummmmm,

500L would cost about $2.19usd and a premium membership is $72usd a year, so if we multiply 2.19x52=113.88usd.

Seems like it would have paid you $41.88usd to keep your membership!

So free accounts think that they are being bullied into getting premium accounts. Thats just paranoia. I pay about 2500US$ tier fee for 9 islands and they come back with this paypal account has been restricted. For a while also i could not use perfectly sound credit cards that I had used before.
You could say I am lucky as I am a concierge customer. But my latest tickets that have been submitted to billing about this subject come back with solution provided. We are working on this problem and some customers are still receiving the This Paypal Account Has Been Restricted warning. Keep an eye on the blog as when a fix has been found it will be published. BTW blog last update on this problem was 26 June 2007. So their solution is there is still no solution.
So it isn't just you free accounts that have problems with CC's and Paypal it is Billing and they get real shirty if you keep submitting tickets. Course if they fix their account system I will not submit any more.

I have to admire you Femina for managing to set up PayPal , I looked at that option then decided setting up a moon landing would be easier lol , talk about a complicated procedure.
