Yes thats correct- you can change a rating on a private island.
If worse (worst?) comes to worse i wont be able to do this myself as my Gf runs an X rated shop on the sim.

I was setting up shop in a new location tonight (too much lag in the old place) and traffic was quite brisk.
So I'm even more convinced that Search has been less of an issue than the viewer release crashes and server database meltdown. Either that or the learning curve is shooting up on the Search. Which is good, because there's nothing we can do about the Mature/Search issue right now, whereas hopefully server meltdowns are over (I need a crossing fingers and toes anim). _____________________

The thing is, slow rezzing, updates, all that - all that is ALWAYS a reason for sales being down.
And it affects everyone equally. Suddenly anyone whose shop is on Mature land is how being hidden! On purpose! That doesn't affect everyone equally, and it doesn't even make any sense! This is an UNNECESSARY move to hurt our sales, which was deliberately done, and hurts anyone whose shop is on mature land. Nothing more, nothing less. And will CONTINUE to hurt those stores. Regardless of what they are selling. We can all deal with lag, rezzing, updates - they're awful, but they are the name of the game, and affect everyone. This singling out of certain store owners to deliberately suppress their sales is absolutely untenable. Please urge the Lindens to fix the checkbox back to the way it was. (Even if you are on PG land and enjoying the greater sales! ![]() coco _____________________

Suddenly anyone whose shop is on Mature land is how being hidden! On purpose! That doesn't affect everyone equally, and it doesn't even make any sense! I'm in total agreement with that statement. When the Mature checkbox issue was first disclosed in the Linden blog, I didn't really think anything of it because I don't have mature content in my shop. And it made sense that PG was the default setting rather than Mature, because users should have to ramp up to see explicit sex ads. But it never even occured to me that PG content would be labeled as Mature just because of a land setting. So that came as an unpleasant surprise. _____________________

I changed my sim to PG to see if there is a difference.
What I don't like is that while I sell PG content, I want to be able to curse whenever I damn well feel like it on the private sim I own. Come on.. we are all supposed to be over 18 here. Mature should be default, XXX should be a check box. _____________________

My sales are up and down and up and down since the last update... when they were quite regular before. I don't have "average" days anymore. Overall, it's down. Well and truly.

If someone changes their sim to "PG" will they then not show up for those who have mature checked?

Well, the weather is picking up too for the areas with the majority of SL residents. That means Second Life will be finding itself increasingly challenged by that old, clunky "First Life" thing some people like to enjoy at least while the light and heat ball is working (imagine, only one source for all that, how could it ever scale?).
I mean, ice cream in the park, or animated hoochie-howwllzz- it's not a tough choice... _____________________

My sales havn't just slowed down, they died, and they died when LL launched the new viwer. Read the blogs, see the problems people are having with it. Lets not blame the sun or make excuses. I usually bring in about 2-3k per week with my wares, but as of the last week i don't bring in anything. Even on SLX. Something is wrong. O.o Also unless everyone deleted their config settings files i don't see how their mature checkbox should be unchecked. Mine is still checked. O.o

At least it's good to know that others have the same problems. Spring break just don't cut it for me.

Yes, huge drop in sales for my shop too. I usually have a standard daily flow but im not even meeting that.
Ive been crashing so much since the last update. Not only SL, my whole computer. Id rather Missing Image and Attachments stuck up my bum than crashing. Also things are taking longer to rezz. Im not sure if its a seasonal transition or SL is just acting a little whacky where as visitors are impatient to shop. Either way, sales are down. |

Certainly not weather for huddling in front of a screen. I'm sorry to hear your sales have stopped, but what can I say? Mine are ok, if a little lower than previous weeks. _____________________
