For me, right after she says "Funny you should say that, I'm feeling horny too."

It's a serious question. I normally go to bed at 1 a.m. these days. I read for an hour, then the radio comes on (at 2). The music sees me to sleep and it switches off at 3.

The thing is, I've noticed that I don't appear to be as good looking as I was maybe 40 or 50 years ago, and I'm wondering if my sleeping times are the cause.

10pm. Otherwise I won't be able to get up at 5am for work. Maybe midnite on weekends.

Oh I couldn't go to bed as early as that - I'd end up looking like a baby. I'm after the handsome young man look.

Ah, the old dog pee slipper metric.

So predictable.

I heard recently that one should get off the PC at least 2 hours before going to sleep, because the light from the monitor stimulates the rods in the eyes and blablabla....

Hmmm, suddenly I'm feeling sleepy.

This is how the eye works - it reacts to light from any source, not just a computer monitor. It follows, therefore, that we should lie down and keep our eyes closed for two hours before going to bed.

Only the rods in the eyes?

There's rods and there's cones; one is sensitive to movement and the other to detail. I can't remember which way round.

I find that 1 am is a bit early, but if I stay much later it becomes 4 all of a sudden, and then it's easier to stay up than go to bed at all.

Usually when I can't read the text on my 24" moniter...it's time to call it a night. :p

I've always been a night owl...but funny thing happens when ya have a job and ya HAVE to be up by 6:30....and your cat KNOWS this and therefor begins the wake-up process somewhere around 4:30am. I try to go to bed by 10:30....maybe 11. On weekends (sunday & monday for me) I'll stay up until I'm good and tired. (oddly, kitty does not bother me on the mornings I can sleep in)
I always read before I go to sleep (ironic since it's my failing vision that forces me to shut down the PC) But I do miss my night owl habits...I hate going to bed....like when I was a little kid.....I don't wannnnaaaaa gooooooo

The sentence "Shit, only 5 hours of sleep before work... again!" springs to mind...

I was going to say "Sleep is for the weak" but this quote from Novis is what I'll be saying to myself in the next ten minutes, which is rather spooky!

Nope - cones do colour, rods do brightness or lack thereof
