From: Markubis Brentano Mark attempts to tie the two arguments together to keep the relevent thread vaible. What if we stacked all of the campers along the shoreline to keep the rising sea from destroying the shoreline? Replace melting ice with campers....thus creating new land...backfill some nice soil on top of them ... and voila!! new land!!! coments? criticisms? If we can add lawyers and politicans to the pile, you may be onto something.

From: Porky Gorky I think as a nation you should be insulted, as Europeans we should be insulted, the chinese should be prepared to be insulted because when the shit hits the fan as it's going to do so multiple times over the next 100 years, we will be to blame, and the US will be singled out as being the ones who produced the most greenhouse gas and did the least to control the affects or to even accept accountablility. This is already history and I am glad the US is finally seeing sense and introducing their new carbon reduction initiatives. Unfortunately it's all 20 years too late. I'll decide when to feel insulted, thank you. /me gets into her SUV and drives off.

It snows so rarely here we just don't go to work when it does. I've spun twice in snow now so I don't drive in it anymore, just dumb. Costs too much to replace the damaged parts.

I'm very happy for you. I hope to one day live somewhere. where snow isn't an issue, or I don't have to dance with 18 wheelers on the New Jersey Turnpike. Until then, I'm not giving up my Big Steel Box.

From: Porky Gorky Its because of idiots like you and your fellow country men that we have not been able to decrease the rate of Global warming over the last 20 - 30 years. It's only now, after 7 odd years in office that Bush is even admitting there is a problem. I dont think that those inhabitants of the the Islands on the Pacific Rim would call Global warming Balderdash, they are too busy watching their country sink beneath the ocean because you are too lazy to get off your fat arse and walk to the store rather than drive your gas gussling car.
Comments are aimed at Americans in general and not specifically at you Chris. You are just one ignorant fool amongst millions. Maybe you should spread a little of that out to nations like China and India.

I dont think Camping has any real impact on electricty use.
Those who use their computer for camping in nearly every probablity would be using the same computer for something else anyhow.

From: Brenda Connolly Oh yeah, the 2 biggest polluters, exempt from Kyoto. *Smacks head* the Kyoto accords are unrealistic anyway - Its one thing to try to pass a treaty when the World economy is humming along at a high as it was in the mid 90's And quite something else during a more sluggish period like now. As I understand it many of the signers only follow the Accords in name only. They play the same Between Wars Treaty Idea of supposedly following a limitation treaty but actually breaking it.

From: Jannae Karas Lot's of people I know just leave the PC running 24/7. Some say it's better for the machine than constant powerup and down. I used to run Seti@home and would keep the machine on all the time, the electricity cost was negligable.

From: Chris Norse I won't express my opinion on the socialist's latest attempt to control our lives. According to certain individuals we should all have a say in how other residents go about earning their money and in how other residents go about spending their money. Note that OP's premise is reducing electricity consumption to stave off continued environmental damage yet they continue to use the software product themself. In other words, they feel they make better use of the software, platform, activities, etc., and thus should be able to consume electricity and damage the environment. It's a rationalization to justify a sense of entitlement. As zombie farming becomes more popular I'm wondering when the threads that will lament the loss of camping L$ and how it affects the noobies will appear.
