Do you read classifieds?

Most of my shopping is at stores I already am familiar with, or which have been recommended by friends.

If I am seeking something that I don't have a source for, I do an in-world Search, or I check on Xstreet-SL.

If I am looking for a genre of product, such as Asian clothing, I may look first for a mall or region that specializes in that sort of thing, and stroll through the marketplace checking out all the shops. I usually don't have the free time for that sort of window-shopping, however.

I haven't looked at the forum Classifieds or at the forum New Products area more than maybe three times in the last year. Mostly I only did look there because I was bored and had nothing better to do. Since they are completely un-sorted and no easier to search than the in-world search, and since they don't automaticly give landmark links to TP to the store location like in-world Search does, I don't find the forum ads to be very useful.

In general, no, I don't read the classifieds either here or in-world. In-world, the classifieds are pretty useless as so many of them have put every keyword known to man, even if it is not relevant to what is actually in their store and once I slog through the first page or so, I'm so disgusted I probably never get to the ones who are honest about their store content and might actually have what I'm looking for.

Occasionally I will look at postings here on the forum for things. However, any ads that say "New hair/clothes/whatever" without saying for women or for men in the subject line, automatically get a pass from me. If the poster can't be bothered to specify, I can't be bothered to look.

When I shop, I shop for whatever has struck my fancy that day or something I've decided I need. I generally focus shop. Meaning if I decide I want a pair of brown casual pants, that's all I'm looking for and use search all in-world and onrez and slx(or whatever it is now) and only go to those places that, in theory, have a pair of brown slacks/pants/trousers/whatever and don't look around at other things in the store.

Shopping for male clothing/hair/shoes is a nightmare anyway since in all search and classifieds, typing in "men's, mens, men, male", any of those, brings up mostly women/female clothing and a few stores that have a t-shirt or two for men. So I only shop for clothes when I have a lot of time to TP around, spend 3 seconds in a store to see they don't actually have men's clothing, despite their ad/listing or maybe they do have men's clothing but I can't seem to find the men's section anywhere or it's a freebie t-shirt and a pair of jeans. When I actually find somewhere that sells decent clothing for men, I LM it and wander back next time I need something.

Shopping for things other than clothing, I pretty much do the same thing but it is somewhat easier to use in-world search all and get at least a few relevant results.
