hmm lemme see, If you pay for your electricity bill to run your computer....it should work right? I mean if it doesnt work, what do you do... you call up the company and say.... HEY!! this electricty I PAY hard earned dollars for should WORK. OR, do you just sit there and let them charge you for the electricty that isnt working while you sit cold in the dark?

Unvarified or basically hard to trace ownership of free accounts IS an issue for people who PAY to be here, when it allows people easy access who WILL greif ANYBODY, including people who DON'T pay to use SL and cause downtime that essentially costs a messload of real world CASH flow and envronment downtime to resolve. Downtime that EVERY person who uses SL, gripes about. So, please don't waste yur breath telling those of us who pay, that we don't have a right to gripe about people who care nothing about ANY of us enjoying SL and want to ruin it for ALL of us. WE pay for helping get these things cleaned up and running again for YOU.
There has to be more accountability in signing up tho...really. There just isnt any other way to make it easier and less costly to keep folks honest and get them to play nice.

From: Kyrah Abattoir make your land forbidden to unverified, bam problem solved *sigh* The only problem with this is.. it doesn't solve the full grid attacks where the Lindens decide to ban us all from the game. It doesn't surprise me that a lot of unverifieds are happy that they aren't paying customers now and can you blame them? Why pay for being locked out of the game on such a regular basis? Hasn't it gotten to once a day now? Or there 'bouts?

I agree there can be other ways, but something has got to be done Pronto or the paying peeps will leave...and that doesnt leave much to do in SL does it? That would be a shame. I'm just saying something that works needs to be put in place pretty dang fast if they dont want to lose alot of credibility with their paying users. Even if it is a temporary solution to help until a better one can be implemented. |
