Nice. Very nice.

Reopen the ticket and explain AGAIN that you never gifted anything...your account was hacked in some manner. Keep doing it until they give you more than a rote response, but stay polite.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Open the ticket, CALL them repeatedly until you get a response. Heck, go to the support portal, Live Chat and give them polite grief right now!

maybe use the word hacked and see how that works I can only think of one way to get money from one avatar to another when they are not online and the word hack is involved...

so try that and see if that works better?

i agree that you should remain nice when dealing with this issue. they just haven't had a chance to really understand the gravity of the situation. in the meantime, you may borrow this....

incredible.

Keep at it Jax! Maybe we should open a Jira issue requesting a new option allowing us to choose to record a L$ transfer as "gift" OR "ha ha I'm stealing your money" so things will be more clear in the future.

I am sorry... This is a great example of how NOT to handle these type of customer issues. Try again... keep trying until you get a better response (not and automated one...)

And the middle finger would be appropiate....

Hy, let's all do the same thing. It seens clear there is a serious, criminal exploit here. In my jurisdiction there has to be US$ 250 or more involved to have a felony offense. Maybe somebody ELSE can help here? Like maybe a Linden who thinks about such silly things as common morality and not waiting until a RL prosecutor wanting to make a headline for himself gets an opportunity to take LL and everyone else involved to criminal court for what your average chimpanzee would recognize as a serious crime? One that would destroy SL if it were permitted to exist by LL?

I mean, HOW STUPID CAN PEOPLE BE??!!

I was excited too. Dammit all to hell. But to be honest, I would have been shocked if they would have resolved it for you, especially this quickly. Could this company's customer service be any worse?

Big clear message for all residents: LINDEN LAB DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. EVERY SINGLE PENNY YOU PUT INTO SL IS A HUGE RISK.

While I normally don't recommend this, if it were me I would make a second attempt at getting them to actually pay attention, if that fails I would start a media campaign about how your account was hacked, balance transferred and they blew you off.

i'm not sure who you are lecturing here. Jax, or LL? either way, she lost about $100US, and if her claims are legit, LL needs to be looking into that.

This makes me ill.

Although, to SL's credit, the auto-response is just that, an auto-response. Do as others have said and escalate this further. I am confident that LL will look into this. That is too much money to be claimed stolen and not check into it.

I was just informed today via e-mail, that someone attempted to charge a VERY large sum of money to my debit card.

Funny thing...the ONLY place I've used that card online was paypal, which hasn't had a transaction in almost a month...and SL.

I think I'll be dropping my premium account now...and clearing my history.

I'm not sayin' anything...I'm just sayin'.

In the one encounter I had with support (ultimately more or less successful), I had to traverse two levels of email automated support before actually getting something helpful (later, when I least expected it).

My experience with their "support system" left me feeling slightly nauseated with disgust and frustration.

How can such an amazing world / platform have such a god-forsaken miserable concept of service?

Jax, like others have said, call them, reopen the ticket, tell them its an exploit, mention the word hack, do what you have to, to get their attention. And change you password, if you haven't already.

Good luck.

Archer, did you use your card for Lindex, or to buy something from someone else inworld (maybe real estate with direct credit card purchase or something)?

To their credit? You've got to be kidding. If any auto-resonse was sent it should have said something like:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We have received your email and we will be in contact with you on a more personal basis within the next 5 business days. Please do not respond to this email. However, if you do not hear from us within the five business days please send a note stating so putting the below ticket number on the subject line of your email.
Ticket number 1234567890987654321
Please keep this email for referrence."

The auto resonse the OP recieve was not anything to LL's credit.........rather to thier discredit. It was a complete blow off and made it quite obvious no human read the thing. And I don't care how high tech you are or your computer system.........a computer cannot comprehend what the problem is. Let along "resolve it". The email was trash canned And for that reason I cannot for the life of me figure where anyone can be "confident that LL will look into this".

Sadly, I'm not surprised. While I've been fortunate not to have had any issues such as this, In my mind LL is totally useless as far as Customer Service goes. This really is a disguisting story.

The only places this card has been active on-line have been paypal (which has been inactive for almost a month), SLExchange. Lindex, and LL's billing system. That's it. Nothin' else.
