According to the blog announcement of last Monday, the Linden homes are available for all premium residents. But that won't be for a few more weeks. Watch for an email.

As for the premium sign up bonus, it takes a few weeks before you see it.

If you are a premium with an existing 512 I take it that you have to give it up if you want to try a premade. Is that right?

The Linden's aren't total idiots. I'm sure if you read carefully you'd have seen some mention that the offer was for new users.

Don't sweat it too much. L$1,000 is less than $4.00. You'll spend plenty more than that on a lot of stupid, wasteful things.

Not sure how much good that will do considering Linden Lab already has an F rating with the BBB already.

Where is this offer? I looked all over the Second Life web page......Googled to get the site that any new person would get if they searched the internet. I had to log out in order to get to the same page that a new person would get. I couldn't find it.

However, I can see why this offer would be for only brand new sign ups. Let's say I'm on the present $L300 stipend (which would deter me since I'm grandfathered at $L500) and I see that offer for an easy $L!000. I cancel my premium and drop to basic. Then I sign up for this new offer.......poof, I just got a free $L1000 for next to no effort. Plus has in the past had a waiting period for such bonuses (though, for a while they did offer an upgrade bonus that was paid immediately..........or maybe that was just putting payment info on file. One of those :) ).

I would like to see the specific offer before I go screaming bait and switch.......my bet is that the conditions for such an bonus is spelled out within the "fine print".

Actually the right place is ftc.gov since it is an international business and the FTC handles international complaints about US businesses.

Okay, I followed the link and could not find any caveat about a brand new sign up. However I do allow cookies in my browser so when I tried to do the "sign up now" it took me to a page to change my account. Did the same even after I logged out. I was looking for some fine print with any qualifying or disqualifying conditions. I'm already a premium so I cannot get the same page as someone who is not premium without downgrading or maybe deleting all cookies (which I don't want to do just to see something that may or may not give light on what I suspect is true). So maybe LL has allowed this loop hole that I discribed in my earlier post (which they have done in the past) or they are being somewhat dishonest in their pitch to get you to sign up...........I just don't know.

But I did see the 45 day waiting period..........so wait the month and a half before you start shouting cheater. That would be my advice anyway.

looks like OP would need to wait another month and a half to get it anyway...

of course there's the fact that they also used to run a bonus for member referral and I know that I didn't get at least 3 of those that I know went premium in under 30 days whilst I was premium.... so the statement from Customer Support isn't suprising... it's one of many straws that broke my premium memberships back

tell that bitch I'm coming to collect!

j/k, it's only a few dollars, I'm just annoyed that it was one more thing LL failed at. even after support tickets, and the fact that one of them was my own damn alt, and they tried to claim they all signed up AFTER the 30 days... which I damn well knew to be a load of crap.

I was also taken by this scam LL is pulling. it does not say any place "Creat a new account and become a premuim member to get thiese bonuses"

It says "Become a Second Life
Premium Member Sign up now and receive a special L$1,000 bonus, plus a weekly reward of L$300!"

"Premium Membership Benefits Include: Sign up bonus**
Weekly rewards***
Your own private virtual home to connect with friends – coming soon!
Exclusive mainland building rights
Immediate access to adult-only areas
Access to Second Life experts"

http://secondlife.com/landing/premium

and the email I got this pic is a screen shot of it

LL needs to give people the promised bonuses or the 9.95 $ back they spent on becoming a premuim member

The email says, "You'll also be in line for a new Linden home." And you *are* in line for one, but they haven't been launched yet. That's due on the 17th Feb. It may be that they are letting new accounts have them straight away, but they will available to all premium members after the 17th, so the email doesn't say anything that's untrue.

It's quite possible, even likely, that the person in Customer Support doesn't know everything about it, so s/he didn't give you all the information.

You have to have 512 of tier available.
To take advantage of the Beta, and try out a Linden Home, I took back 512m of tier from a group that had unused tier.

Yes. (I'm considering tiering up, just to get 512 free, I kinda want a Linden Home....) I don't have any free tier right now.

I signed my alts up for Premium accounts. I got referral bonuses for them, and some of the ALTS got referral bonuses. None of us ever "referred" any of the others.
