Agreed.

No, he shouldn`t. This is getting insanely irritating and he, I`m sure, has a few people already who have mentally noted never to visit his SIM. Some have already expressed that openly on these message boards.

Well I can see what Mike is saying. The build is a good one, so if Chaos wants to brag, its understandable.

But You are right Jesse, he shouldn't be bragging here.

He can brag in "Special Attractions" or in "Gallery" like everyone else.

When I've posted pictures wider than 512 pixels here, I've been greeted with objections.

512 appears to be the maximum width pictures can be without disturbing forum formatting.

It's an annoying width to me because the photo storage places I use don't offer that as a thumbnail size, but that's what it appears to be on common screen resolutions.

There are forums here for building and texturing both, which might yield better answers as how improve builds than the forum that is especially for helping new users.

The picture looks gloomy and depressing to me.

I agree to that bit.

Maybe so gloomy it looks unrealistic.

Looks pretty good.
The thing is more animations and scripts it might cause problems.
But I agree, more spooky looking birds like crows, perhaps weather, fog, rain, lightening at random times, shadows of buildings and trees, occasional throw in some sinster animated shadow. Rats or scary looking dogs animations scrolling through the streets that look very hungry and angry that snarl at visitors? Veichles, perhaps some spooky cars that have blacked out windows that follow visitors?

I'm one of these people... I mean sure the pics look lovely, but I'm not going to add to traffic rating or anything else for someone who so blatantly advertsies it constantly... if it was once or twice sure, but not this much....

I just refuse =P

This is what I see when I see my posts. They are just like everyone else's are, properly formatted. Opera apparently does a better job of rendering than Internet Explorer or Firefox. It wordwraps the url to fit in the table. This does remind me of one more reason why I use Opera instead of Firefox. I don't need any reminder of why not to use IE.

Of course, the real problem is allowing more characters to be entered than can be properly displayed on common browsers.

I suppose it a bit lax of me, but I rarely do multiple browser compatability checks when I fill in form on a profile. I guess I should.

I would think a proper company would take care to display the information they collect in a proper such as fitting in a table correctly, or being truncated, or displaying virtual objects without gray textures preceding the intended textures over and over and over for years.

I have put the elfurl version in the location.

I suppose I could create a Jira issue to deal with this location field problem. I asked one time for people to select the least important bug they could come up with. That would be a valid response to that question.

This is not your own forum to start a thread whenever a thought crosses your mind that has a question mark on the end of it.

Cut the shit already.

Thank you Ray. Exactly what I was thinking. I'm tired of Resident Answers being treated like somebody's personal ad farm.

LOL, Chaos has started more threads in Resident Answers that belong in other forum areas than I have started total threads in entirety in 2.5 years here.

I average 304 posts for every thread I make.

Chaos has started 84 threads with only 214 total posts, most in RA. In fact he averages only 2.5 posts per thread he starts!

If you think he is breaking rule report his post.
Most you've posted more then my alt who joined in 2003 in beta he got 4 post. So what is the point?

The point is, it is thinly veiled advertisement. A few posts have been blatant ads - either employment wanted, products wanted, property rental offering, land wanted.... all stuff that rightfully belongs in classified. I have seen Felonhall enough here that I don't need to visit it inworld, and I know more about it than I ever wanted to. Plenty of us have stuff for sale or rent, but you don't see us pimping out our wares/property here beyond the signature.

I find these begging threads highly irritating, since they're not the only ones looking for more income.

I don't know if it's in the TOS, but it is in the forum guidelines. Here's some examples:

"Post in appropriate places, for appropriate reasons – The forums are split into separate topics. Please do not post discussions into forums that are clearly designed for other discussions."

"# Advertising

* only in the appropriate places.

# Post in appropriate places, for appropriate reasons

* we may move threads or lock threads if they are in the wrong place"

You can give him the benefit of the doubt if you want, but many of us are seeing it for what it is.

Anyway, as this is a question, I am going to answer it.

I think it needs some lighting, would street lamps be working in this city? What about lights from some windows?

How about adding some movement like leaves/rubbish blowing around which I have seen in other sims? How about a weather system, some rain and lightning?

Yeah. Can't tell anything much from pictures, so visited the build. It's okay. Lots of big dreary textures, many little primmy details around. Feels vaguely menacing, but not sure about "post-apocalyptic"--maybe the Apocalypse won't be so bad after all. ;) But the problem is that it's exceptionally inert: There are a couple of prim-flaming and particle-smoking trashcans, but otherwise it's pretty much an exercise in static texture uploading.

So, I guess the advice would be to shift focus away from stuff that could be captured in 2D images. That's not why the place just isn't very compelling.
