Where to get $L?

Well, unlucky me! Second Life doesnt accept my credit card provider! Im stuck with a whopping 0$L, and I really badly want to buy some stuff for my av. What do you suggest i do? I am blind as far as building is concerned, and i dont really understand LSL, and the lsl wiki is like spanish to me!

Are you able to use PayPal? SL accepts it as a form of payment, perhaps they take your credit card provider.

nope, paypal wont accept it either, and i dont know anyone IRL who plays sl... Either way, i wouldnt really trust them, and id wanna have it be direct payment, with a paper trail, ect.

There are a few things you can do, find places that let you play slingo for free, camping chairs (yuck though), find a job in world with one of the many clubs out there, money trees etc. Do a search for Freebies too. I found a buncha stuff that didnt look half bad as freebies! Alot of designers have a couple of freebies at their doorways so dont hesitate to visit those lots too! GL and sry that paypal doesnt take it either, that rather stinks.

Yup...it pays you a certian amount per unit of time...eg 4L per 15 minutes.... If you do this, I recommend getting an Anti-Idle orb to wear and leaving yourself logged in on one overnight while wearing the orb.

I have read that you can use a debit card, sucha as you can buy at walmart to pay Linden Lab for lindens and tier.

If Paypal will accept your credit card, you can use it to add dollars to your LL account Here. Then buy the Linden dollars that you need.

From what a friend told me alot of camping places are turning off outside scripts. That effectively kills the anti idle.

most banks have a prepaid credit card you can get....
good for 500 dollors or more, check with your local bank.

Doesn't the US just have Debit cards that tie directly to your bank account? So that you don't need to rely on interest bearing credit cards?

Some credit cards are not accepted, There are some Residents that have buisnesses and they will take USD form you on Paypal, and send you L on second life, For the teen Grid theres Tweak Land Company, and for the main grid, there are MILLIONS of them, just do a search for Buy L, Other than that, id try Ebay, They sell it on there too.

How about checking out what the in-game Universitys are teaching?

Classes are free, and fun, and you could learn how to make things to sell.

Lots of people have got into business this way.

I joined SL a few weeks ago and managed to find a few places to camp and make money. It's a bit dull, leaving your avatar dancing or just sitting there, and many places have a timer cut-off, so you have to go back every half-hour to restart the sequence, but if you're patient (and have other activities you can do online at the same time), you can earn enough $L to buy some basic, customisable items.

If you're able, you can design your own T-shirts and then sell them on - you only need $L10 to upload one image, and you can make that in half an hour in many camping locations. There are tutorials available in the Knowledge base, and templates to download on the Downloads page.

Theer are also events you can go to that offer random cash prizes. I won one of these and spent the money on a suit for my avatar.

Gambling *can* be a way to make money, but my experience is you'll lose more than you gain over time.
