Seems to be something to do with the internet connection, I been able to login fine from Australia for the last few days, at the worst some slow loading of clothes & textures when numbers were over 30k

Apparently a couple of people removed an xfire update and got on ok afterwards too.

The can't logins compared to cans must share something in common?

I run standard viewer, XP, 20Mb ADSL, Dual Core Intel, 1Gb.

Some ISP's limit connection speeds when usage is high too to handle the number of users online, because face it they aren't going to kick 10,000 users off are they. And who's going to notice 10-20% running anything other than SL?

I used to have some login issues on dialup and when I hit my monthly download limit.

i know exactly how you feel.
starting wiht this game today seems to be a bad idea after all. I always get a message that date and time on my pc may be incorrect and thats why it is imposibble to establish a secure session. ???
maybe my firewall is blocking out some needed data-packets?

I haven't seen a msg like this (xfire update) and I don't know, if it's something with my connection. I can't imagine that, because I was online today, this morning.. 10hrs ago!
I think it's not fair that we have to waste our time with waiting and thinking without finding the problem - and the Linden's don't mind?
Gray tried to talk to one - and she left the session ..
I won't be rude, but that's absolutley not fair, huh..?
10-20% - why we? we're paying and / or Premimum Members - and like I heared, those members get access before the basic members without payment informations.. oÔ

ahh.. it's getting late :/
I am pissed ..

I'm having the same log in issues, and I'm in Canada.

Seems to be a weekend thing here, with Sunday the absolute worst. LL is going to have to address this problem somehow.... because I can't see it getting any better by itself.

Curses. This is the only day of the week that I can indulge -- in a relatively guilt-free way-- my admitted SL addiction. And I can't get on. :(

Seing rather strange behaviour here now. The first login attempt ended with a simple "Login failed" message before the client crashed. Now it crashes every single time I open it, on the login screen. Uh-oh. This has never happened to me before, at least not as brutal as this.

Edit:

I presumed something mysterious happened to the client upon the first crash, as it seems it did not even exchange a handshake with the server or anything the next times it crashed, so I re-installed it. I could then log in after maybe 1 minute, but then moving around was next to impossible for me. I saw others around, and they did not seem to be much affected by it, but I got packet loss and superhigh ping. If I started walking in one direction, my avatar would suddenly fly into a wall or something and stop responding when I hit the S key for back propelling. Either that, or it would just as suddenly start zooming the other way and hit another wall. So I just logged out and will try again tomorrow. Command & Conquer here I come! (playing the first title at the moment, got the Decade box).
