Hi, it seems to me that a grey shadow was added to hover text in 1.15.

This is what I see and it makes light text on light background quite unreadable :

Yeah, all the blurry text startled me. I was looking in About Land, and I suddenly started to wonder if I need stronger glasses.

I had that at lunchtime but it seems to be gone this evening.

In between then and now I changed to UI size back to normal (1) and changed the screen resolution for SL to a different value than normal and then back to normal.

BTW, it's not just object hover text but also some text of the UI.

The blur is definitely back. I'm not sure it was gone, but I am sure it is back. I almost get the impression the text is translucent.

There may be a setting somewhere to change this.

Perhaps someone with more energy than I have at the moment could look in the source code and find what is responsible for this and rough it up a bit.

My impression (which may be wrong, I've not done a lot of investigating), is that the new text style is better in full screen mode, but worse when running in a window.

I can't find anything related in the change log, Client menu or Debug floater and many people don't see text as blurry/shadowed, so maybe it's a graphic card thing. I have an Intel GMA 950.

Not really,

Well it's not a server thing, it's not a client thing since we all have the same, so it's a hardware thing.

Object's hover text could be a server side thing, but client's UI text ? lol I doubt.

My UI text is blurred, grainy, whatever you want to call it, since the update. I submitted a bug report.

Mmm... the shadow on text has been made softer. I like it, but then I only use white text.

I don't see how this can be server side.

Text seems fine here, unless I'm not looking at the right text.

I run sl at 1280x1024, in windows mode (but having the window maxed out to full screen, so just the XP bar at the bottom so I can quickly jump to other programs)

The UI Size I have set to 1.1 (but I just tried it at 1.0 and that looked fine too)

Anyways here's a Windows screen grab so it includes the menu text, hovering object text, my av text and hovering bubble text over myself too.

http://www.musicprogressive.com/sls/sl_screengrab.jpg

(make sure your browsers is displaying the image at 100% otherwise it'll be blurry anyways of course)

I'm curious as to what this blurry effect is like for other people, anyone want to post a screen grab of theirs?.
