Okay...the only way to solve the "German log-in problem" is to change your DNS Server, Novis.

I finally decided to give it a try and after I changed it I could log in without ANY problems. I now have the same in-world trouble as everybody else does, but at least the log in works.

You can find the instructions for changing your DNS-Server in the German Forum, thread "Access denied".

I wasnt refrring to you Broccoli - I suspect YOU are a paying member. I refer to fact that we are overloaded with NON-paying members.I still think the population explosion has much to do with issues we experience here.
YOU obviously have an interest in sl since you often on Answers. We may never agree with each other BUT You are not who I was referring to in the sense You inferred.
My apologies.

No problem :)

I happen to be an unverified account, but my other account pays more than enough for the both of us :) We just keep separate 'for tax purposes'.

The reason most people 'disagree with each other' on the forums is simply because we see threads we agree with, nod and move on to the next... then only clash when we see someone posting something we disagree with and need to tell them they're wrong.

Next time SL is working, I'll look you up. Like most people, get off of the forums and actually chat, we'd probably find we have more things in common than we thought.

I think this should be SLs new slogan!

Second Life - The most system-intensive IM system known to man!

It almost sounds like something great until you think about it for a second.

I would imagine the population will continue declining so long as you can't buy or sell, upload, teleport... If you were lucky enough to pop up in a room with a lot of interesting people to chat with ( because I'm not popping up where I logged ) maybe you have something to do...

There has been some improvement (at least for me)

Linden Balance is showing and drop-down dialogues are working again.

I see 27,000 peeps online now. *wonders what they are all doing*

Is there any point in doing anything, though? I noticed that now I can upload, but should I bother? I figure there's a good chance there'll be some sort of rollback and anything I make will poof anyway.

shut the grid down, give it a rest! it hasn't had to run for this long without downtime in...how long now?

LOL, fewer than 22 hours!

Grid re-opened Saturday at 10:25 pm.

We noticed problems 7:54 pm Sunday in the most system-intensive IM service known to man! ;)

Why dont you (that is the ones that can log in) come to my dancing boat... the stream-music on the Cruise-aiders is working, my danceballs work, we cant play the sploder or the trivia ball, but then again you dont have to tip me :)

I will play some of the most favorite 60's and 70's music, meet your fellow forum readers, swear on the Lindens if you like, but at least you have something to do.

Copy the folowing slurl in your webbrowser: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ebersberg/13/186/25/

It worked for me!!!

Hello :)
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it seems to work for alot of my staff/guests when attempting to TP into my club. If you know the Region name of where you want to go, try inputting this as your "Starting Location" on the log on screen. Often, it will work (and it did last night when this big mess started).
Hope this helps someone out there...

Hmmm... someone should make a "member of torch-wielding peasant mob" avatar...

First I went to see if any of my neighbors were around (they weren't), then I relaxed in a chair for a while... then I wandered around my home sim looking for cheap land (why are the prices inflated here and not everywhere else. /sad).

Now I'm just alt tabbed hovering over my shop.

Went on a frustration-induced trip to Ikea and spent some money there, if I can't do it in SL. After returning, I found that by now I can log on (yay!) and I am indeed no longer different from other users. Meaning - same problems everyone else has. Yayyyy.

Nothing is working right now, don't attempt to move, teleport, breathe, camp, dance, shop, rez, have sex, use voice, sign language, build burning effigies or voodoo likeness dolls of any Lindens.

Thank you for your patience....

Best Regards,
Your friends at Linden Labs

PS Your partner has decided to part ways with you.
