I believe there is little I can do about my problem but thought I would seek some advice on the off chance someone has a brilliant idea.
My partner and I recently bought a beautiful mainland beach property. Since the day we moved in we have had issues with our neighbor. Such as he attacks my partner with vehicles, or strange objects, orbits him and all of that. OTOH, he tries to pick me up. We have talked to him, tried to reason with him, banned him, muted him all the typical things you do. And yet he (and his friends) continue to attack my partner without coming onto our land. He has ugly particles spraying all over the place, put up a huge stone wall between our properties. All of this is to be expected, however annoying it may be.
He did IM us and threaten to continue his assaults until we leave the sim. We filed several ARs including photos and a notecard with the threats. So far, we have heard not one thing from the Lindens. Lovely.
We want to sell the propert and sincerely hope whoever buys it gets along with this guy. But he actively tries to sabotage any sale using noise and particles and whatever he can to scare off buyers.
This situation is teh suck. Any sage words of advice my friends?

Personally, I wouldn't move just because of a griefer. Has he explained to you what his problem is or is he just trying to get you out so he snatch up your land at a cheap price? If you have him banned from your land, how is he able to use vehicles or try to pick you up? Have you disabled object entry and scripts?
If he has associates helping him grief you, I would ban everyone from your parcel for the time being except your own friends and continue the AR process--as poorly managed as it is. He can put up walls or whatever on his own parcel of course, but just put up a screen with a pretty view on it on your side of his ugly wall. I've used giant mountain rocks to block ugly things and they work well with low prims.

his problem is he doesn't like my partner. no idea why. he hasn't actally said anything more than "he is a dick." umm, ok dude.
im kind of new so i dont exactly know how he does it but he sends objects over the wall. one was a blue lazer looking light thing and last night it was a big green wormy thing. it more annoying that anything and its just makes it not fun to be home.
i agree that giving in and letting him have his way isnt good but neither is not feeling comfortable in your own home. we wanted to have an open beach where people can hang out and its not possible at this time with our neighbor.
maybe you are right, and if we give the Lindens some more time they will do something.

Personally, I'd take off the ban and let him walk onto my land, then orbit him myself

Go to your Land Options Tab in About Land and: Restrict Object Entry, Restrict Object Creation, and Restrict Running Scripts. Also make sure your land is set for No PUsh

Tell him you will sell the land to him for 60L per meter If he wants to get rid of you bad enough, he might buy, and you could go off and buy some 6x bigger land.

If you create a group of you and your friends, you can restrict entry and everything else to just the group that the land is assigned to. This means that the scripts will work for everyone in the group. I believe, and don't quote me on this, that the land doesn't need to be actually group-owned but can be assigned to the group. Can anyone verify this for me? (Not inworld right now.) It's a short term solution that wouldn't allow strangers onto your land (so you can't have an open beach yet) but on the other hand wouldn't allow your dick neighbor either... just an idea.

At least you don't have freaken King Tut living next door to you lagging you and your friends out 24/7 who felt it was necessary to build Egypt on a coast.

I believe only his scripts will be disabled and any other outsider who comes unto your land. I had a griefer try to cage me on my own land once. I disabled scripts and his cage came out and fell apart. It was entertaining actually. He said "aww Poop!" and left. I don't know why, but I laughed out loud for a good 15 minutes afterward.
He can only push objects so far onto your land if "auto-object return" is on. Turn it on, set the return to 1 minute and it will make it more complicated for him to grief you in this way.

Thanks for the excellent technical advice folks. Now i have to convince my partner to stand and fight. He wants out. But im starting to think the fight could be somewhat entertaining for a time. Perhaps we can outlast him. Surely, we can outsmart him because dude is dumb as dirt.

Depends on who owns the land. If you disable everything (unless to group of course) then only the owner can create objects, fly, run scripts etc. Is your land owned by a group with both you and your partner in the group?

Yes. The land is group owned and the group is us plus one other person who is a rl family member. All objects are set to group.

You can set the land to a group and the scripts will work and you do not have to deed the land. By just setting a group, the land stays owned by the person. It's deeding that does the group owned thing.

From: Chestnut Rau Now i have to convince my partner to stand and fight. He wants out. But im starting to think the fight could be somewhat entertaining for a time. Fights are never entertaining in the long run. And any stress they heap on your partner, *might* eventually get associated with the relationship itself. A once-fun time in his life that became very un-fun. I know it sounds like giving in. However the prospect of living next to such a neighbor for possibly YEARS AND YEARS, would really give my depressive side a good nasty kick. If both of you were psyched for fighting back fire with fire, it might be another story but I worry about the impact on your partnership, which to me would be more precious than winning a Hatfields and McCoys standoff over a little spot of land.

Don't forget to get all witnesses to file ARs too. The more people file an AR against a single person, the more success you're likely to have. Good luck.

Just FYI: Alexandria was a Sea port and was in Use by the Egyptian Empire for Thousands of years (it's still in use as the city of Cairo). Keep recording and reporting Each Incident As it happens, The More AR's LL has against this person the faster they will act. A few Witnesses would help as well, Have them AR also. Do NOT retaliate, If you do, You become the subject of ARs. Angel.

We have a couple of good SL residents trying to play nice and have fun with the game..........and no way to effectively contact someone who can do the necessary things to make it possible to continue with the fun Linden Labs says they want everyone to have. Jerks and a**holes can have their "fun" at everyone elses expense........but the law abiding can't. Something very wrong here. I've had this discussion before on this forum. I was told it's the "wild west" and if I don't like it or can't handle it I could leave. That's the attitude of many........and I'm afraid it is somewhat prevailant in the Linden circle too. I wouldn't leave.........I'd do as advised and stick it out. I'd outlast the jerk.....for spite if nothing else. But that's just me.
