Better stop working for the weekend...

...because the grid is borked again. Or still borked, who knows or still cares. I just wasted hours of work on a scripted item. When I tried to pick it up, the linkset stayed on the floor and nothing appeared in my inventory. After a while the linkset vanished forever. Cleared cache, relogged, of course without success. My work is gone.

If it was a bought object, I'd just buy it again. Heck, I'd happily pay 10k to get my work back. Well, there go my plans to get some work done this weekend. Guess I'll rather sign up for the Project Outback beta... testing the next virtual world and 3D business platform might be more productive.

I hear ya... haven't attempted to built anything in awhile. The uncompleted projects list sits stagnant out of fear. Fear of exactly the thing that you mentioned. Lost a very detailed item when I tried to take a copy, just so I wouldn't lose it. Not only did a copy not show up in my inventory, but the original disappeared also.

Tried all the tricks, but nothing. So I stopped building.

I had the same issues this afternoon. It just really chills the enthusiasm to do much in SL, really, other than socialize because anything you buy or build is always a % proposition that it will not be in your inventory. What a poor show, eh?

Time to vote in JIRA again for bug SVC-114. I just posted the following in SVC-114's comments a day or two ago, if you have any more concrete info that you think will help them nail it you may want to add a comment too. "me too" comments probably won't help, tho.

Judging by Resident Answers, there has been a rash of a particular variant of the inventory loss issue in the last few days. You "take" an item, nothing happens and it remains visible. After doing this a few times you relog, and when you return the item is gone. It never appears in inventory. Personally, I don't know whether it is ghosted and still in the prim count. I had this happen on Monday night at Obscure Sandbox. Of course, I checked Objects, Lost and Found, looked for coalescence etc.. The item was fewer than 30 prims, non of them larger than 10x10. In the same building session, however, I had successfully rezzed and taken many items. All items were full perms.

Yes, its unstable again. I recently was at a sim where scripts would not load from my inventory, got server timeout messages. I could not gift items to the person standing beside me even. Appearance is iffy, and the viewer is arbitrarily crashing to desktop. Overall poor performance in many places. My own sim seems okay at the moment, except for the client crash-outs, but that is happening other places too. It is really, really, really starting to get discouraging at this point.
