Good. I wish they'd do more of that. Also, I wish they'd start pursuing more aggressive legal action for theft-of-service against griefers and for fraud against anyone registering with misrepresented RL identity and (especially) age. It needs to be very expensive to get caught f*cking with the Grid, because it's so very expensive to investigate and bring charges. And just doing nothing is even more costly.

Isnt school out for most parts of the world now meaning 17 years and younger?

Hmm, there's nothing really helpful there, but thanks for pasting.

It's from another thread.

Where I pointed out "for the children" worked better for politicians than "Pony!"

edit: though I'm open for a suggestion of a polite but humorous response to replace it since it is a name of a linden and may disrupt searches by them for comments

lol theres an obvious parallel reference to those of us who remember the thread about Mari's neighbors, horses, and Post traumatic stress syndrome and WoW players.

Pony Linden wasn't a real Linden, but rather a "bot" that would apparantly roam around some sims and you could ride it.

Unfortunately LL never maintained it and it's been gone for ages now I think :(.

*makes a "Bring back Pony Linden" JIRA :p*

The feature voting tool no longer exists, but the page was archived:
From: someone
Prop: 124 177 votes/28 voters/no applied
Name: One (1) pony
Category: miscellaneous
Subcategory: other
Author: Epitaxial Playfair
Prop Date: 2005-04-14

Feature Detail:
In the same spirit of many of the other proposed features, I would like one (1) pony. So as not to be selfish, please share the pony among users in the primary welcome area. Users should be able to spend a small fee (L$1-10) to ride the pony.

Linden Notes:
One (1) pony shall be provided for use by all residents in a yet to be determined common area.

This feature is acknowledged for development by Linden.

When talking to Rebecca, you could use her favorite drink "Kool Aid" or her favorite weather "Blizzard", or her favorite expression "WoW".

The lure to save pennies is strong in some.

Well there are those pretty stringent limits on brand new accounts isn't there?

People saying that if they purchase a year's premium they cant hardly buy any lindens afterwards?

That sounds like bad business design - try to sell people on the premium idea and then make that count against the money they need to enjoy the game ...

I dunno. When I was a Premium, the amount of Lindens I was able to buy was enough to get me started. I didn't want to rush right in and buy a huge plot of land, but I had enough.

There are legitimate 3rd party exchanges to buy lindens from. If you go to the Lindex page, Linden lab, has a list available. They are legitimate by virtue of the fact that they use the Risk API to counteract fraud. Here's the link:
