I would suggest three products. One, a copy/mod version of the house plus a transfer version of the furniture, the second just the prefab, the third just the furniture.
Food for thought... I think that sounds like the perfect solution

honey do we need to be in the group to place a freebie at the mall?
your post has me rethinking the freebie decision... Over the last few days I have not even been in SL, nor have I gotten any sales... not sure if it is the issues with SL, or the fact I have not put out anything for awhile (my not getting in is the issues with SL) _____________________

I asked Axe Bikcin to invite you to the group, but you can decline if you'd like and just drop it on me. _____________________

thanks honey, logging in now, will accept the invite and stay in the group, thus enabling me to change out the free items when the whim hits me hehe
Skell, sales have been dismal for me for a long time.... I am on the fence trying to decide keep the store, or sell the land and revert to basic accounts I need to decide by April as that is when this account subscription is due _____________________

Honeybear, do you accept only clothing designers in your group? Hubby and I own a virtual aviary, as well as a Victorian store. I'm very interested in learning more about how these "freebie" groups work. I had no idea they even existed! Thanks in advance.

Talking of prefabs... I'm currently working on a starter home that's fully furnished. It'll be packed in a rezzer to make it easy to place and I intend to keep the price fairly low so it will appeal to newbies setting up. Now, normally I sell my prefabs copy/mod and my furniture trans. I'm a little undecided what the best perms set-up might be for this new prefab. The rezzer set-up would probably work best if everything was at least copy, but I don't want to be handing out cheap fully furnished prefabs that anyone can copy a million times to set up cheap rentals either. What are everyones thoughts on this? I wouldn't make your furniture copy, for the reason you mentioned. Presumably there's an instruction card, so you can include a warning not to delete the furniture because it can only be rezzed once. _____________________

I wonder why you sell your prefabs copy/mod. People could still rez a load for renting out, even if they are not furnished. Is it so that people can make mistakes and simply rez another rather than trying to correct the mistakes? We purchased our house about a year ago from Effulgent Brown, one of the best-known Asian home pre-fab designers. She offered (she closed her store and/or left SL *sighs*) her prefabs in either a copy or trans version. I *think* the copy version was a bit more expensive, but not sure as my partner was the one who purchased it. With the size our house is, it could not be taken back in one piece and set out again when we moved. So we just deleted it and rezzed a new one at our new location. Things like people rezzing out a bunch of them for rentals never occurred to me prior to this thread (duh..lol) so maybe setting the copy version at a way higher price would be a good idea. It might all depend on the type of prefab. As I said, the one we have is huge...a smaller prefab could be a different situation. ![]() *Just basically thinking out loud here* _____________________

It was just too high, looked like a flying carpet. When selecting everything to lower it all at once, my house fell apart, ended up deleting it and was very grateful to have it available in my inventory to re-rezz. Is the OP Rhianna Larkham still in SL? I looked for her in Search to go visit her store but unless SL was just having a bad day Search couldn't find her. I've visited and bought from many places here since I started reading the forums, really learning a lot. Treasure |

Is it so that people can make mistakes and simply rez another rather than trying to correct the mistakes? That's precisely the reason. Most of my prefabs would appeal to newbies really, so mistakes are bound to happen. Looking around SL you'll find that the majority of prefabs are made with these permissions. If someone wants to rez loads for rentals, that's something I have to live with really, but I don't want to make it easy for someone to make a fully furnished house this way. I wouldn't make your furniture copy, for the reason you mentioned. Presumably there's an instruction card, so you can include a warning not to delete the furniture because it can only be rezzed once. I think that's probably the way that I'll go. I may pack the house in one rezzer and the furniture in another, with instructions saying the furniture is trans only. _____________________

I could not find Rhianna in People search, but in the All search there was a group notice that said something to the effect her store would be back soon. I think she was having computer problems in the past, iirc. _____________________

Thought I'd mention here that I put out a notice to the group yesterday. Seems that some may have missed it or it didn't go out to everyone. It's called "Want to give something back...". It's basically just a couple of ideas I thought I'd pass to the group about a group logo and a group LM exchange system. Full info is attached to the notice in-world.
As a side note... The freebie mentioned in the notecard sent is no longer available in store. But you can still get your copy via the notice "Here's the cupboard" ![]() _____________________

Any of you guys know of some good, cheap ad boards? Other than Sarah Nerd, whose are great... but no more than about 100L/wk.

just my two cents on ad boards....i have used many of them all over, big, small, cheap, expensive....the return via clicks has been next to nothing. the return in terms fo people who tell me they found what i was advertising via an ad board is exactly one person and that was from one ad board on the galaxy about two years or so ago. for me they are not cost effective.

Prawny, good idea, I'm in but I'm not a scripter. Keep me posted! Is there anyone who'd know how to script my idea in the group? It would be great if it was a totally group made effort! This is my basic idea... I'm thinking that we could have a 2 prim display, like a vendor. The Biz Owner network logo on one prim and then the other prims face would rotate all the Biz Owners ads every 10 seconds or so. The idea being that someone clicks the ad and gets the relevant LM. Everyone taking part would put this out in their store, so we'd all be promoting each other, even better, it'd be free ![]() Still need to hear from anyone who'd like to be in it if it ever gets made. Just drop me a notecard with your name and if you've got an ad already (512x512 square) send that too along with an LM. I'd image full perms for both items would work best. The more members we could get involved the better. I'll put another notice together to say this in-world too. Might even make a mock-up to send out too ![]() _____________________

Is there anyone who'd know how to script my idea in the group? I just IM'd my partner, Prawny, and he thinks he could script that up pretty quick. He won't be home until U.S. evening, but you can look up my profile to get his and then drop him a line if you want. Neither of us is in the Biz group, so I only found out the request from the forum. If someone else wants to script it up this afternoon, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. ![]() _____________________

There really is no rush at all, I'm not the fastest of people at getting stuff organised, lol. You should both join the group so you can be in the finished item.
