Hmmmm... me googled and cannot find even a single reference to 'poopmaster' or 'poop master' related to sailing or boating of any kind, not even in a sailing/boating glossary. I tried other sailing terms and found several thousand references to those.

It would seem your sailing buddies have been playing a very nasty little joke on you all these years.

Nah. The Poop is the highest and aftmost deck of a ship. You won't find poopmaster in any naval dictionaries, but poop you most certainly will, and I suspect the appending of 'master' made it a cute title for a young lad out on the seas with his folks.

True, but most of us, (me included) are not nautically inclined, hence the confusion. Personally, I've heard of a poopdeck, but had no idea what it was used for, and certainly have never heard of a poopmaster, so, being proud to be a poopmaster is ok, but you've got to admit that 9 out of 10 people are not nautically inclined, and simply think you're some kinda scat freak (ewww!).

OK, someonly please post the poop on this (information). I was sitting on the poop deck when a wave came up behind the ship and pooped us (the wave came over the stern, which usually results in sinking -- just read a few Patrick OBrien novels if you doubt me). I had been reading the IBM 360 Principles Of OPerations manual (intimately known as the POOP manual, since it has the straight poop on the 360). Finding myself washed up on shore and pooped from vigorous swimming, I looked around but the honorable POOP manual was gone.

Crap.
