there is just too much good information to have it not archived..i think that would be tragic if they justflipped a switch and it be like it never existed..

That's fine. But it was never publicly searchable. It should still require a log in.

4th then LL just simply made the "archived" forums inaccessible.

I can read them, or do you mean inaccessible publicly? (through google, etc..)

It's not about that. It's about people who shared their hearts and souls and some times some indepth RL info (quite a few, who are not here, right now).....in order to discuss concepts within the SL population....in order to understand other people, and in order to be understood.

It's about those people who did so willingly, with the understanding that it would be inaccessible from a google search. It's about a betrayal of trust, that will go beyond what was shared in this forum for the SL population, and people in that population who understand and participate in concepts that the general public would not understand.....and it's about that level of trust, in which we share our private conversations and activities inworld.....and to what level that trust will be compromised, as well.....at some point. And for some....it probably has more layers and more angles. It is betrayal.

Unless someone with the Linden name has the courtesy to come in here, and explain that is NOT what is going down.

To stay on topic....you can consider that my final signature. Disgust.

in all fairness a lot more people put a lot more effort into tutorials and building and texturing and answering questions that helped when people were in trouble and a ton of other things helping the community learn about sl.. to have it flitted into a black hole of non existence would be a bigger tragedy..

We post on here what we choose too..if some post more than they should about themselves it should not be put above the reason we are all here..

don't get me wrong ..i hate these forums are going away and i've gotten on some emotional trips in here myself..but i would not let what i have said and done flush away the real value of all the things in here that can benefit everyone in the community..there is just too much here to place individual value over community value..

i know it sounds cold ..but sometimes you have to set emotions aside and see what will really be lost if that were to come true...
it would be like burning down a library in a university..

Altered mine a bit. We can't include SLURLs, right?

i agree..and i wish that was how it would stay..we are all getting a good taste of LL's reality..
we are all just cattle..they just don't give a shit about the cattle..they only care about how much that cattle will bring them in the cattle market.
us here? well we are the unlucky ones being sent off to slaughter..our hides are gonna be hung up for all to see..

that's about how it feels anyways..
i'm putting the lotion on my skin..my last hide didn't come off so well in the xstreet skinning lol :o

My current sig will stay until the end, I may post pictures wearing Brenda's T-shirt or something like it before the end though, it is FULL of win :D

As soon as I can find it, I am going to use my Trout rating as my final signature. It's the thing in SL I am most proud of.

Great Idea, I think I will add mine to my signature as an addition too and go out with a BIG SIG :D

I'd added the first line of my sig for the Christmas season, but am sort of glad I didn't choose to remove it. (It's one of those simple ideas that have the power to surprise.)

As for the ads, I will probably replace them with photos of SL scenes that mean a lot to me, since stretching people's screens will no longer be an issue.

(I was embarrassed, recently, to learn from a kind poster that my sig HAD been stretching people's screens...I hadn't known that!)

lol, Ponsonby --- it was huge, but I loved looking at it! :)

I will not leave a message of anger, disappointment, or resentment to posterity in my sig.

Instead, it will stay just the way it is, so that future generations can look back and say "Wow - even as a kid av, the women couldn't resist him."
