nice place to hang out???

I was just wondering if anyone knows any good socialising places that aren't escort agency, stripclubs, casinos etc, somewhere to go and have a good chat and hang out?
I have looked in the events but other then finding sales, and places for free $L I just cant seem to TP anywhere where there are people ??

unfortunately its a bug in SL .....called camping,

Most people wont converse with anyone in SL atm....just anywhere theres people seems to be filled with with zombies, bots and generally asleep folk.

There are SOME nice places but the SL population is so spread out now theres no reall communities, which is a shame.

There is a beautiful Island called 'Kingfisher' (Dragon Inn) owned by Kat Klata, which is a great place to hang out. Great people too . I'm at work right now so can't get you a landmark but you should find it in search or in Kat's profile .

McCoy Island offers a very sociable club. Ranging from country, to rock, to formal nights. The island spots a small beech, and a vendor mall area to wonder through and see wares from small-time to well-know creators.

The people are quite friendly and always willing to help if someone has a question about SL, but it's mostly just for making new friends and hanging out with old ones.

April McCoy is one of the sweetest persons I know and one of my oldest friends in SL. I'll hold every memory of the place in my heart forever.

If you are looking for a good place to meet people and have great time then go to Waves Beach Club in Atlantis. The people are really friendly and there are events most days and no escorts. Come down and join us and have great time.

Chocolat ... we've just added 12288m to our land holdings (buying out one of those clubs with strippers, poles and escorts YAWN!! YAWN!!!) - we've got one set of names carved on a tree and one wedding invite already so we must be doing something right.

Upcoming (for which read still to be built) will be a live music venue and some shops etc but Chocolat itself has free jetski rides and pool/darts for the boys and lots of private places to wander off/social places to chat.

***best to say huh ... search under places with Mature ticked, we are on the beautiful green island of Odessa Graceful, with over 6000 sqm of Linden water in the interior to play with!

I know you said you didn't want a strip club etc, but we own a very freindly adult resort, which we hope is not like the majority of them. Think of it as a social club which allows adult activities if you want, rather than the "adult theme" taking over the basics of the club.

Temptations is based over nearly 1/4 of a sim. We get regular daily visitors from all over the globe, and all are very friendly. We, and the other regulars always make an extra special effort to make sure new visitors are given a warm welcome.

Don't be put off by it being an adult resort. Most of the "naughty" stuff is confined to private bedrooms, or our large "playhouse" skybox. The main clubhouse if mainly for socialising, and is a "no pressure" "not in your face" environment. If fact, most visitors just come for the chat and have a dance.

We have a small shopping mall, large garden area with outdoor pool/bar area and a lovely pavillion & grotto which provide excellent private areas for chat and relaxation.

Each Thursday we hold a themed fancy dress event, and we also hold regular firework displays in the grounds.

We don't allow outside escorts, so you will not be harrased, but we have our own few select escort girls who clearly understand the rules not to harrass visitors, instead are there should a guest wish to have some adult fun.

Although we get visitors all times of the day, we tend to get our busiest after around 9-10pm UK time (1-2pm SL time) onwards.

The good places are rare... or at least hard to find. I had a couple of hours to kill last night, and I went event hopping. Which can be a frightening thing. Finding a nice place to meet people.... eesh... In a world with 30,000 avis logged on at any one time, you'd think it'd be easy. I got so annoyed last night, I unchecked "mature" on my search because I got tired of bumping into naked people..

I have just found a place where you can go into the theatre and WATCH a real movie. Really.

In Moraine, at Maly's. She sells lots of furniture and stuff, and to the side she has this little theatre. It's very very cool!

Someone asked about taking their SO avatar on a date? That's the place.

I have voice on at the Lingerie Bar and in my corporate offices on my island. Teleport to VooDoo Island and you can usually run across some chatters or musicians using the voice-enabled stage in Lingerie Bar to jam. I have a group entitled SOCIAL DISCOURSE. A bunch of folks always looking for a voice chat. I will send you a invite. If you don't get it just go to groups and join. It is open enrollment.

We are in the process of renovations, but SecondLove, which is a FREE dating service/club/hangout/romantic garden is open for you(or anyone) to come and hang out at. NO STRIPPERS, ESCORTS, or any of that. There are a few regulars already who hang out there and I am usually there if you would like to meet me or chat I am in the process of working on a few different levels (the agency is in the sky, as is the romantic garden, dance floor, etc etc).

We also have a TV where you can watch a movie, if that's something that interests you.

Sorry Blady, I still like some of the events at VooDoo, though generally I don't see it much for socializing. People at The Pier are extremely friendly, they have a water slide, hanggliders, RC car track in addition to the beach bar were most gather to dance and talk.

I second the Pier. I'm a newb here (about 20 days old) and within my first week I stumbled into a crowd at the Pier and instantly they all made me feel very welcome. Its now a place I like to go to for a bit of human social contact lol
As I'm a brit I also like going to the Three Lions pub which mainly attracts fellow brits, again they are a nice bunch to get on with.

Stop in at The Blarney Stone when there's a crowd there, or at the other place across the street. Friendly places.

Agreed, the Blarney seems to have something going on nearly round the clock and the people have always been really friendly when I was there. The 3 Lions Pub is another that comes to mind with a fun, friendly crowd.

Those are a few cool places you should check out. Svarga is beautiful! A must see.

Just stay away from places that have crazy populations...they will have sex or gambling inevitably.

Try "The Bay" and "The Cape", both your basic tropical island resorts but they seem to attract a good crowd, and are also pretty female friendly.

I used to rent on one of them and loved the people. No clubs, no chairs, just a mellow vibe

I see two previous mentions of the Three Lions at Bourton. I've not been there as often as I used to but yes, a definite community feel to it.
Another favourite Taff's Bar at Firemaw. A good crowd and a fascinating safari railway in the grounds
