I'll start right now that if you're a flyer...too bad. I'm sure there are plenty of sims where flying is fun.
Just came back to my home to find some monkeys in my sexgen bathroom up my space station (Cloud 5 for the win). Upon asking them if they had lost their damn minds, the male (he shall be now known as Moron) decided to inform me that my house is now reposessed and that I should get over it. Ban/Eject. I then get crap from Moron in IM about how they did not know it was a house. (I suppose the fact you had to use a TP to get up here to the floor called "Living Quarters" escaped you).
So please, can we raise ban lines to 800m? Some of us live where we can't have security balls to do the rest of the high work.

Tyblat, I'm sorry to hear about your bad incident. Actually, ban lines have been lowered several times already. I don't think LL will re-raised them any time soon. I'd suggest you get a security Orb to keep strangers from approaching your skybox. There are several to choose from. Cal..

Actually, it sounds like hella fun to eject/ban someone like that. I hope you did the full monty: Freeze/Heap-extended-humiliation-on-him/THEN Eject/Ban.
Hhmm, on rereading your post, don't forget Mute.

i believe ban lines already go right up to 768m. it's group access only lines that are much lower. around 125m? i really can't remember. i try not to use ban/group access lines if at all possible out of consideration for my neighbours. security orbs don't work at that height? i remember my neighbour's bouncing me at extremely high altitude .. whenever i fell off the platform beneath my (then) latest building project. insolent freeloaders banging on your land? sounds like a good excuse to tp all your friends in and have a good laugh. if they're mouthy, that's even better.

I have at least 3 at my house and they even work if a person is on a ball. I even put them in Skyboxes and set them all to "teleport". That way, they get sent home and not just off of property to keep harrassing you.

Ask your estate owner if they might consider making the estate group access only, with a guest list you can control at the parcel level. Or move your space station down within the coverage area of the ban lines. You have those options. See if they might afford a reasonable solution before insisting that EVERYONE ELSE's movement about the grid be further restricted. From: Tybalt Brando So please, can we raise ban lines to 800m? From: Walker Moore i believe ban lines already go right up to 768m. The Knowledge Base says: From: someone The heights are:
* 768 m above the ground for Residents explicitly banned in About Land > Ban tab. * 50 m above the ground for others not allowed on land, including restrictions in About Land > Access tab and the Ban tab's "Deny by Payment Status".
Falling from above onto a parcel you're not allowed into will cause you to continually bounce at the height limit. http://www.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=396Which I take to mean that, unless someone has their name included on the ban list, it's generally 50m.

Yeah, not gonna happen. You're essentially asking your neighbors to foot the bill for building a dome over your yard...after you already have a fence. If the tools you already have (which you stated you used on them) aren't enough for you then move your house to where the ban lines apply or get a security system or something. Your neighbors shouldn't have to pay for your bad planning. And if that doesn't cut it for you, then do what people do in RL when they want to live in solitude or in nicer areas...save your money and get a huge, secluded plot of land...they're called "sims" in SL.

People enjoy the feeling of flying to places and around their own neighborhoods. If everyone used ban lines you could barely fly a few meters in any one direction on the mainland at least. Don't live in a skybox, get a security orb, Ben/Eject them like you did and ignore their IM's, or just ask the intruders to leave. If you want real privacy, get off the computer altogether and find a quiet room in your RL house.

Not really on point 1 - I use security orbs to ensure a minimal flying height of 200m over my land. Yeah, thats everyone. Kind of redundant since I have object entry turned off (goes all the way to 768m, thank one of those people pushing for taking away landowners rights) but some people don't fly in vehicles. And point 2.. sims.. people who want to fly in toy planes can go buy them too, and enjoy no ban line/security orbed territory. It goes both ways. You want to fly? go buy a sim.

In your case, the person dubbed "Moron" Obviously Knew he was in a private space, His own Comments to you demonstrate that, so, your response was Justified. I had a similar Skybox. In order to keep people out i purchased an inexpensive security system that warns people, then a moment later (30 seconds or so, to allow them to leave under thier own steam), ejects them. No Bans or anything. It allowed them free righn of airspace that wasn't occupied by my Home. The warnings were politely worded, and the departure time long enough to allow them to leave, as most will, without resorting to unpleasentness. If you get one, Set it up so it protects your building and a resonable airspace around it. If you are on a small lot, make certain the boundries of your security do Not cross your land Borders, If it begins ejecting people who aren't even on your land, you can get into trouble.

I love having visitors over in my skybox. It makes me happy that some of the stuff is at least getting used!
I even have a big welcome sign and a Teleporter up to it!

oh rite. Just because you have a very minor issue with someone using your sex bed, you decide that ALL OF SECOND LIFE should raise banlines instead of you using any number of the available security systems that could solve your problem, or make your own.
Your logic is flawless :V

Your logic is flawless :V Agreed! To the OP, deal with it. It comes with being a home owner. It's not hard to use the kick/ban buttons.

30 seconds is very generous of you Angelique. i rarely come across one that gives me more than 7 seconds to leave. i respect the message sent out by them, but they rarely give me enough time to make a dignified exit and before you know it, i'm half a sim away - landing on my arse. i wish more people were like you. it would make traversing the mainland a lot easier.

Maybe you could get the owner to adjust the covenant, at least enough to protect skyboxes? Seems worth a try, if you haven't already. Seems to me you have a good case here.
