Chris Sloat cuz = because yer = your Please talk like a real person. I'd email support, and check your transaction history at https://secondlife.com/account/transactions.php and see where the money went.

Lets not lose focus, if ppl are losing money and inventory, we need answers. This game while they say Lindens are not worth anything, we all know differently. People are losing money in inventory and in money on their accounts. One person i talked to their entire transaction history has been wiped out.
This seriously needs to be addressed and soon.

Seriously Yaffle, where are you... inconsiderate island! I am very sorry to hear that Chris, it can be very frustrating when hard earned lindens go missing for no reason, whats even more frustrating than that is when the Linden's turns their back and say...oh well you should have a backup plan, well...
Lack of preperation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
The suggestion in the reply above is the only recourse you have, unfortunately, I wonder if IBM has missing inventory/lindens as the rest of us do?

You forgot to add to the voting:
Friends List!!!!!!
I've lost people in my friends list, which is a horrible thing to lose. .... I guess that means I've lost inventory because calling cards are missing?

If you're going to insult me, at least get my name right. And I was not being thoughtless, I was correcting him. If you take offense to that, then you're going to have a hard life.

Yes things are bad, but we need answers not person attacks. I know Nim to a point and he as upset as anyone is these days. We are all stressing over this problem and many otehrs. Lets settle down and hope Labs gives us answers.

I'm sorry for your loss, but this method won't resolve any of the problems you've mentioned. P.S. Your poll is skewed as it doesn't allow people who haven't lost anything to respond.

Likely this is all just temporary. Give it a few days - there is a difference between grid growing pains, and permanent losses. Just keep track of what's missing the best you can.

I fail to see the question about how to do something in Second Life in this thread. Maybe the OP can enlighten me.

I believe i lost about 30K lindens, made a post about it when i noticed.
Its hard to track too because some days, none of my sales record in my transaction list.
I try to cash out often now; i wish we could move money frm our SL account right into our RL bank

From: Kepster Cure Seriously Raffle, where are you... inconsiderate island! Raffle-Yaffle is right... Many others use these forums that do not speak and write ENGLISH very well. and just coming up with your own wording makes it hard on others trying to understand what you are asking

Chris Sloat The most useful answer is "don't bug the nerds while they are fixing stuff" - the more you demand relevant and up to the moment answers, the slower the fixing process goes. That's just a fact of user-support life. Besides which , there seem to me to be two likely answers: 1) "Our Juniper switches have the wrong firmware and Juniper aren't releasing for another week" 2) "Our DB vendor says they are looking at the problem and we are waiting for them to come back" Just out of idle curiosity, y'understand - what would you do with either of those two answers?

YOu missed the biggest one. Looseing = Losing. That's one of my pet peeves. Just think folks, if it has two o's it's too big as in a loose article of clothing. If you are losing something, it is lost so it has one o. Hope that helps.

If you're going to insult me, at least get my name right. And I was not being thoughtless, I was correcting him. If you take offense to that, then you're going to have a hard life. . My apologies for mis-spelling your name, (believe me when I tell you that I'm going to lose sleep over this, no, not really) it seems as if you are mocking him, because no one other than you expressed concern over his methods of writing, we share a platform with users from all over and we can't expect everyone to come across as clearly as we personally do, if cuz=because and yo=your so be it, rather than go out of your way to point something out that didn't need pointing out you could spend time addressing the hundred other issues plauging SL, this being a VERY serious one. If you really DID need a quick lesson and you really didn't understand what he was getting across, you could have asked politely and I'm sure there are plenty of well intended residents that would have cleared up all the jumble for you (obviously you understood so I guess it safe to assume you speak on the same spectrum) but it seemed a little rude the way you came across or to imply that they were not expressing themselves like real people because of the manner in which they write/speak and in reference to my life, I"M DOING GREAT! Thanks for asking, go ahead and do something productive next time, I challenge you

To revert this thread back to enlightening answers:
Question:
If we suspect money has gone missing, what do we do about it? If it not in our 'my account transactions log' how do we trace it?
Here is a perfect example of an experience of mine with this problem: I withdrawed $10L from a Ginko Financial ATM (to upload a picture) The Ginko ATM said "you have withdrawed $10L.. your account is now such n such" However... I did not receive the $10L.... It was not in my transactions, and there was no LL record of the $10L..... however, I was $10L in my Ginko account. I reported the error to Ginko and they quickly resupplied my account with $10L.....Thank you Ginko!
but this is a perfect example... There was a transaction where I was supposed to receive $10L, but I never did, and there was no record of it.
LL needs to fix this problem... In fact this should never be a problem... This bug is something that in my opinion is #1 priority..... There should NEVER EVER NEVER EVER be a way to lose money, transactions, or inventory... EVER!

Prompted by this and another article, I looked at my transaction history. I found that yesterday there was a debit of a L$25 "gift" to "SYSTEM". No idea what this is. I've received my weekly stipend from SYSTEM. I've sent and received "gifts" to and from other avatars, but the username appears in the record, not SYSTEM.
Any ideas what this may be?

You are not particularly protected and certainly not 'looked after' as a valued customer should any mistake be made by LL in my experience.
Doubledown, consider yourself fortunate that there was a third party involved in your elusive transaction/10k, and one who see'e the good sense in keeping your customer happy.
On the 16th October I attempted to purchase 15,000 L$ in world via lindex....resulting in a transaction unsuccsessful....your account has not been charged message. A little later I tried again and did manage to purchase 10,000 L$ (again in world via lindex).
On checking my email I found that my account had been charged both the initial $55 for the failed transaction and the subsequent payment for the completed one.
I emailed billing and sent them a copy of the receipt and to date I have recieved just one email saying that I could not have been charged because it is not in my transaction history. I cannot get any further response from them no matter what I do......they simply ignore my emails.
Even the inimitable Torley Linden has kindly forwarded on my emails, evidence and concerns and it makes me feel slightly better that even she is met with the same response as I. SILENCE.
I have a reciept saying that Linden Labs charged my account and that they were paid.....seemingly that does not balance out the lack of a record in my transaction history. LL made a mistake and I get to pay for it.
What REALLY gets my goat is that they seemingly consider it beneath them to give me an explanation. Two days away from a month later and not even a 'sorry but there is nothing we can do.'
I wonder what will happen when they charge me my $195 land tier this month and I send $140 instead. Maybe .....just maybe I will get to speak to someone in billing and explain why they are $55 short........or maybe this customer service things works both ways.....they screw me one month.....I get to screw them the next?
Interesting times.

How come no selection for "None"? ...this poll makes it look like everyone is having problems, and that's not the cases...I for one haven't lost a thing...
