There is one, but it may be hard to notice. It consists of replicating plywood prims that are hard for the physics engine to separate. The result being, the simulation slows down alot. The prims have names like "Bullet", "spa", "SUCK MY COCK", "Mia Linden" and other residents' names.
With the estate tools, the objects can be located pretty easily with Top Scripts (will try Top Colliders next time). Users without land permissions can disable the objects by creating a trap made of thin boards stacked closely together (Like this: |||||||| except vertically stacked) large enough to contain them for a few moments until the "smackdown" code disables them... Or indeed, if Push is enabled, you can just knock them out of the sim.
I don't think the kids doing these things know the techniques, but eventually people will figure out that it's possible to rez things on land where object creation and object entry are disabled. Two defenses I consider infallible:
(1) A full parcel (2) Ban/access lines (but don't do that)

From: Bree Giffen If I were them I'd wait until the grid was relatively stable again or else no one will notice. However, residents currently are extremely frustrated and agitated. I could see it viewed as being a good time to hit them when they're down.

I only hope this didn't just toss the object into someone elses front yard. How do people get this crap on my land in the first place? I'm set as no build.

I received this message yesterday from a source i trust, not a panic spreader, or an idle rumour merchant. I passed the message to another group which covers a large group of sims where build is enabled. My warning was dismissed as mere rumour and panic spreading.
Now, i know that sometimes rumours are worse than the thing they report, but i do feel that i would rather pass the information than sit back and watch a grid attack cause a lot of problems for a place i care about. It would have given me no satisfaction to sit back afterwards and say "I knew about that, but i didn't bother to mention it". I had no idea at the time whether or not this was a panic rumour or a real warning of something valid.
What would you have done in my place? am I guilty of rumour spreading? or is it the duty of people who hear of such things to warn others?

Objects can only be created until the parcel is full. The number of allowed objects is related to the number of prims the server can handle. So this can not bring down the server.
If you find garbage on your land, return it to the owner. Problem solved?

If you find garbage on your land, return it to the owner. Problem solved? Auto-return is my best friend! And it's entertaining to watch things return to their owner as rapidly/rabidly as they are created!

If you find garbage on your land, return it to the owner. Problem solved? But of course some prims are more equal than others. Even without an active script inside, enough physical prims rezzed close enough to each other could sure make Havoc work hard for a while. To really bring down a sim, though--not sure; I'd guess it would take some scripting in those prims to keep collisions happening a bit longer. (Or, of course, other mischief or exploits.) I used to return stray prims on my land but now, if they're physical or ugly, I usually just delete them. I'm reasonably sure that the Owners of some of those aren't actually involved, but just victims themselves, so no point in cluttering their Lost&Found. And if it's a perpetrator, that temp alt is probably long gone anyway. Sometimes I'll AR if it looks like it might actually encourage someone along the enlightened path.

Apparently the old Mega Multi-Sim Checkerboard was in use again last night too.
