I probably shouldn't, but oh well:

RL 1: Born in the US, raised in East Africa (Uganda and Tanzania).

RL 2: Have held the following jobs: washer of dead people, data analyst at EPA lab, pizza-slinger, professor of linguistics, lower-level executive at a motion picture studio, artist, professional costume designer (not in that order, of course).

RL 3: I'm a drummer. A FEMALE drummer. :-) And a mom. (again, not in that order).

SL 1: No interest in the cyber-sexing side of things but fully support the right of others in that area.

SL 2: Originally joined a long time ago but thought it was boring and left. Thought SL was so stupid that I erased that user/password combo and now it's a mystery to me! I should have remembered that join dates held cache here on the interwebs.

SL 3: I'm glad I met the friends I did when I came back. I've met some of them in RL. My friends are what matters.

Okay, you asked for it...

1. RL: I have appeared on television multiple times, and not by accident.

2. RL: I've been known as a master at trivia, and can pull up obscure facts very easily

3. RL: While I've played many, I've never been a big fan of computer games. They rarely hold my attention for any length of time.

--

1. RL/SL: I am married, and my RL spouse is in SL: For those on the neverending thread, no it is not "Johnny."

2. RL/SL: Many of my RL friends are surprised when they hear I play a kid in SL; they also find it to fit me perfectly when they meet me in SL.

3. RL/SL: My avatar and I share many common features, including hair color and length, skin tone and freckles, and the need to wear glasses. My avatar's eyes were patterned after my RL eyes.

RL - I am 95% sure I fall somewhere on the Aperger's spectrum. But I have no money to see a professional and I've mostly learned to work around my quirks, so there probably will never be an official diagnosis.

RL - I've never used illegal drugs. I've never even tried smoking tobacco. I tried drinking to excess a couple times back in the day, but it never did much for me. Now I stick to a dark beer on rare occasions.

SL - I had a great idea for a themed area and bought a bigger piece of land partly so I could try it out.. Now I'm a bit intimidated and I haven't actually started working on it yet.

SL - I've made a few things and considered selling them. But I'm afraid if I start an SL business I'll obsess over it (like I tend to) and SL will stop being fun.

SL - I've put together some really cool living spaces in SL and I love to go back through my pictures. But I have a terrible fear of bugging people or putting myself forward, so I've never had many people over to see them, and now I wish I had.

I have no friends in real life.

I am old.

My real life wife found out about my SL affair (long since over) and Iwish she would divorce me rather than torment me about it.

SL Everything I say in SL (including the forums) is untrue.

RL I am even more mean in rl than in sl

RL I can read instructions and count up to three . . .

Pep ( . . . unlike others in this thread.)

RL1: I am slightly dyslectic and have hard time learning. However have an above average IQ. Dispite this issue, I learned myself to build computers, cars etc.

RL2: In highschool I was known as the calculator.

RL3: Depressed loner atm, but in therapy, have a GF in the states, am european myself. Feel more comfortable in states or canada than I do here, more confident.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SL1: I have a business building older style houses but not succesfull in sales, I have no business mentality and am too affraid I might overcharge or underperform.

SL2: I joined to have a medium that I can use to overcome my shyness and so far it helps me a lot.

RL/SL I have no patience with people who act as if they are superior and show so by pure insults towards me. Nobody is superior yet people that act like this are inferior to me.

Not bad for a partially dyslectic dutchy :D

RL: Despite living within walking distance of a public pool for over 20 years, I can't swim. I don't know anyone else who can't. I'm not even afraid of water.

RL: I was once involved in a public fight that the police broke up. I threw the first blow, although I swear I was provoked.

SL: I have an androgynous male alt.

I've already shared so much of RL that most regulars already know this stuff about me:

RL: I'm deaf.
I'm black (USA)
I have a graduate degree
I'm a loner, but that's not a bad thing, I like it like that.
People think I"m lonely and want to rescue me. I'm not.
I'm shy in social situations

SL: I'm deaf.
I'm black (USA)
Squeaky Clean volunteer for a real life/SL non profit
SL virgin
Am considering an alt
People think I'm lonely and want to rescue me. I'm not.

From one introvert to another and to the rest of the world - we are not broken! Stop trying to fix us. We need to be away from people to recharge. And yes, we do like people.

Calling all Introverts!

Excellent book to read: "Party of One - The Loner's Manifesto" by Anneli Rufus.

Amusing, well written non-fiction take on what it's like to be a loner by someone who is one. I always called myself an "introverted extrovert" or an "extroverted introvert" - was never sure which one fit better. I do not particularly enjoy being around large groups of people, do much better in small groups or one-on-one. Can spend large amounts of time by myself without being bored or lonely. I never found this to be unsual at all and this book does a good job of explaining why some people are this way and should not feel pressure to change to fit the norm of society.

I second that. (Being a loner has nothing to do with my depression. Just means I don't prefer large crowds and am perfectly happy being alone or with my partner)

I would have thought that true introverts wouldn't be flooding the forums with posts telling everyone how they were happy with their own company?

Pep (Is there a special sort of introvert that doesn't mind being "alone" with thousands of readers?)

Well, I was not going to post but decided I would it could not hurt I guess.

RL: I am a loner I guess you would call it. I only have a few friends and they are great. I am not much of a talker nor a person to that likes to talk to others in public. I am guess it is due to the fact of how I was treated growing up and going to school all my life.

RL: I hide behind my fears and keep myself from moving forward with things because of the uncertain. I am not a big rick taker I want to know the out come before it happens. I do not like changes and do not adjust to them but I deal with it all. No I'm not on meds for it.lol

RL: I have had 7 major open heart surgerys and counting lol, I am a diabetic and I was born with one hand. I have my right hand just not my left hand, the first two RL facts about should make since now. I am not have a drop dead grogous body nor do I try to get one. I can type about 45 to 50 words a minutes on a good day with my one hand. I just finshed college for cooking ( the basic). My dream would be to open up my own eating place. I have my health issues due to my bio. mother doing drugs while she was prego with me. I have forgiven her yes, forgot how can I. I live with it every day. lol

SL: I have not been on that long a little over a month now and my BFF got me hooked.

SL: I try to talk to people on SL but do to the fact I do not talk to people in RL I do not do it often in SL. Now if I get a im or a hello from someone I will talk to them back but for me sending a message probaly wont happen.

SL: I do not like to be asked for sex, it is a game and it does nothing for me in SL, now RL different story. lol I really love SL and do not know why I did not find it sooner.

I can't swim either, nor drive. Not the fact that I do not want to just have never found a person brave enough to teach me. lol One hand thing. lol

Interesting question, although worded quite nastily. Assume it is an honest question, therefore will answer it. I think because, it's easier in writing. I express my thoughts on this kind of thing better in writing, than face to face, or pixel to pixel. I enjoy posting to the forums, am must less apt to be tongue tied, as I am in most face to face social situations. It's easier to sort one's thoughts, if no one is standing in front of you, waiting for you to spit it out.

I've been weighing them all. Go right ahead.

RL:
I have a rather long list of health problems both physical and mental, despite being young (25). They impact my SL by limiting my energy, attention span, and social ability, but also give me a unique perspective that leads to unusual methods and ideas.

I love water. I taught myself to swim, and especially enjoy swimming underwater. At my best I could hold my breath for two minutes, but that was a long time ago and I wasn't underwater at the time. :o

I've had pet goats. I miss them, especially Matilda.

SL:
I have many avatars, but they usually follow the same color scheme of white, pale gold, silver, and pink. Having pink on my avatar (usually the hair) is kind of a running joke, because when I was trying to come up with a color scheme I liked I kept ending up with combinations that looked best with pink hair, even though I don't particularly like pink.

My store, Dragon Keep Creations, has had mascots since nearly the beginning. The first was Gary, a red Gyarados that a friend caught while fishing. Later was a dragon shaped topiary that most called Steve, though there was some argument over whether he was Steve or Phillip. Now we have a pair of angla-dragons whose form has changed a bit over time. Their names are Phillip and Steve II, and they sit outside the store. Rumor has it they have a younger brother named Daryl, but he's never been seen.

I don't really have any human avatars. I prefer animals. It seems boring to me to be human in SL, when there's so much more possible.

I see what you did there. And, I think 3 was a suggestion.

Less than 3!

1. SL: (Under another name) I made a male alt just to try clothes on, try things out in shops, to send male friends to later, things like that. I felt sorry for the wallflowers at a popular dance spot. Took him there, asked one to dance. She began getting a bit saucy in IM which I hadn't foreseen. Made my polite excuses and didn't try THAT again. He's been hit on other times, if I try to get a hunt item to test it to see if it's worth recommending to guy friends...So I VERY rarely take him past the log in screen now (when I log him in at all), and kinda regret rezzing him.

2. SL: Confession? I'd rather give things away than sell them, it's just more inspiring that way.

Hey, those of you who want people to see your sims, or builds, or products, or who want feedback, or opinion on how much you should charge, but are too shy to ask people - ask me. I'd be happy to go and look and answer questions/give feedback on things.

You're welcome to come to 'my' sim too, if you wish, whether I am in it or not...I think I will keep it for public use. Just send me an IM or note card - don't be shy. Unless you want to. :)

Pep (Try post #30)

PS Since you are complaining I never correct your posts - it is "weighing up" not "weighing in"; boxers and jockeys do the latter.
