Are sex slaves legal?

Are sex slaves legal?

Edit3: Also, is prostitution legal? I'd like to know this for all the escorts and webcam like services being provided.

I'd also like to know why someone would want to humiliate themselves and become an escort, sex slave, or a prostitute. Especially when they do it solely for a fee of the equivalent of a quarter.

I'd like to hear your opinions. I've found that the poll indicates that most people who are reading this don't take it seriously.;)

What makes you think they might not be?

Define your terms.

What is a "sex slave"?

What is "legal"?

No - we should round them up and arrest them.

In case this is a serious question, the answer is that in SL, there is no such thing as actual slavery. Everything that resembles slavery is, by definition consensual, so someone pretending to be a sex slave is not actually a slave. It's just role playing. It is legal.

It is illegal, in the U. S., to hold a person against their will (other than lawful arrests, etc.). It is also illegal to force anyone to engage in sex, and (except for some parts of Nevada) to make a profit by engaging in physical sexual activity with another person.

None of which has anything to do with the concept of sex slaves in SL.

It's perfectly legal to make a movie, write a story, or engage in a roleplay that involves sex slaves. In a few specific cases, such activities could be illegal obscenity, but not merely because sex slaves are involved.

Consensual adult play, regardless of the terms one uses to define the participants, does not currently violate any laws in the state of Texas, in the United States of America. (Yes 21.06 was struck down, in case you haven't heard, see http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.005.00.000021.00.htm#21.06.00 .)

That is as far as I am able to give you advice on. Your mileage may vary, in other words.

Define the location of the act and the ages of the persons involved (directly or indirectly) and I can probably point you to the respective laws.

I take back my previous entry. Don't bother defining your terms.

I have a definition instead:

OP = Troll.

Don't believe me? Check his sig.

I would phrase that as "Non-commercial consensual adult play." Prostitution is often consensual, but still illegal.

Unless you want to purchase toys, of course ;)

Bad spelling does not a troll make. The sortofa bombshell question with absolutely zero context might make one, though.. :)

What are you asking here, Bobby?

Is this "is it ok to play master/slave?" (yes) or "is it ok to mess with another resident to the point that they can't SL unless they do my bidding?" (no).

Poor Bob. I looked at his previous posts on the board--didn't seem trollish.

Why is Lindall always so eager to take threads off topic?

He changed his signature after Lindal pointed it out. Lindal, you should have quoted it.

In short, no. But I'm quite sure you knew that already. If it was illegal, the Lindens would have banned it by now.

Actually the Lindens have been thinking about it. People thought gambling was legal until the Lindens banned that.

You say the Lindens have been thinking about it, so you knew it wasn't already illegal.
Why ask the question, then, unless you'd like to stir it up a little here?

So you are a troll
