A ton of unnamed sims east of Gobash... Will we see another big sim release?

I was taking a little trip around there -- playing Columbus trying to discover the 'new world'. Anyway, I came across what must have been easily 30+ sims which don't appear on the map. Now, I haven't been on much lately so perhaps someone has already noticed this. Anyone thinking we may have a surprise in store within a few days?

Where are they?

Gobash isn't showing up as a sim in the map for me at the moment.

Given the fact that they also gave us no new sim auctions today, along with this, I'd say it is very likely They still have somes on the map to sell too, so lack of sims to sell isn't a reason...

Reece, I do hope so, or at least over a couple of weeks. The price of land is too high. The supply is ample, I don't know how much is currently unoccupied and for sale but my straw poll says it is an awful lot. Until Linden flood the market enough that people won't pay US$2000 to US$4000 on auction to take yet another "new" sim then this will continue........ or of course, unless the normal man in the street won't pay the prices and the tier payments are hurting.

Both will work eventually, if Linden could get a fair allocation of first land going out there to all the "new" premium members I think everything will settle down and a few people will be losing quite a lot of money - but then don't gamblers always do?

That doesn't look like a new continent to me, looks more like an island in a bay off the southern continent. I would have expected a much larger plot of land floating off to the east, not attached so close to the Southern continent.

I don't believe I said that - please pretend I didn't - must have had the brain switched into "placate the customer" mode.

Interesting whenever there is a "major" Linden innovation (dare I call it that) to do with land - more places to explore - more old tried and tested arguments to be gone over again .

Yeah, that's not the new continent, that;s just finishing off the southern one. It looks like they're putting more sims in that gap than my original estimates, I based it on joining the top of the land released over the past week to the older part of the continent to the east, but it looks like there's going to be a significant amount of land north of there.

Probably going to be a lot released tonight, as I suggested several days ago Since last weeks 40 finished, they've actually released land at a slower rate than previously which contradicts what they said in that blog post, so I would expect a lot more land very soon.

It's definitely more interesting terrain than a lot of the southern continent, which will please a lot of people.

Also, if that new block of land joins up to the older parts of the southern continent with no rivers, that sim that got bid up to US$12,001 yesterday will be the only way in or out for boats.

I just navigate the area. I notice there are 50 sims prepared (all unamed but visible on map and also when I fly around). There are 2 small islands (one 2-3 sims (Khisanth on the W), and the other around 5 sims), and I suspect there is a very big island (of size around 30 sims) with the western border consisting of Norbert in the N and Belial in the S. I think there would be a channel, similar to the one at Morkeleb, E of Jadu.

Prepare for an onslaught of sims, including a sizable amount of them with sea/ocean/bay view

I see now that one can find unnamed sims just by searching in the map for sims named Unnamed. How convenient.

Looking for new land is one of my SL pastimes but I missed this latest bit. I tried TP-ing into the sea where it is earlier today and it was all 'invalid location'. But sure enough, I've justchecked it out again. Seems like a large island and a big natural harbour. What is interesting is that the northern extremity ends with temporary straight sim edge rather than coastline, as does most of the eastern edge, so there is more to come. When I have found new land before it has usually been a few days before it appears on the map.

Where to look next - that's the big question!

Hey, it's Thursday! Looking at the auctions page - you think it'll be another Black Thursday, or do we all know better by now?

Since last Thursday, they released 8 on Sunday, 7 on Tuesday and 8 today - that's less then the 4 a day we used to be getting. As they've said they plan to increase the rate at which they output land, I would imagine they'll have to do another one like last week to keep on top of it. I doubt it will be today though now.

I would bet that it would be far east (to the very right of map on land store , where the known world ends now. If we take a look on the map in lansdtore, there is no other space available for a new continet , as grid is occupied with hundrends of private islands.
So i suppose they would have to go outside the known grid.

let's wait and see.

I doubt it will take that long though... I'm curious how long it will be before this new continent shows up. Once the gap is filled, who's thinking the new continent immediately starts showing up?

I think a number of these are up for auction now. They still show as gray, unnamed on the map, but they show and have names in the Land Search Auction display, and show purple when you go there and have View Land Owners on.

Not sure if the new auction sims are on this latest 'ghost' land, but they are already showing healthy bids - more than the last lot went for..... and with 22 hours still to go!

All the more reason to buy my land at 13.9L per sq m! Auctions will go for more...

Things should get interesting when all those unnamed sims on the map go up for auction. There's a whole bunch more on the map than there are up for auction right now. I'm guessing those will go up right after the current bunch ends.

Judging by the way things are layed out, I'm guessing all those ghost sims will likely be rolled out over the next week. I'm guessing LL won't roll out more than 20 at a time judging by the effect it had last time and the fact they're trying to make the market more stable -- not less.

I've stayed out of the market since I saw the new sims yesterday. The next few days should be interesting to say the least!
