Ban Lines: land option that gets turned on by newb and forgotten because they don't see what it does, thus attracting angry IM from neighbors asking "why do you put ban lines around your property?"

Also: land option turned on in a desperate and futile attempt to get some privacy.

Also: Griefing tool used to annoy land owners into selling their land.

Camperbaiting - the act of offering money to groups of campers to see how many aren't afk or bots :)
Newspaper PJ's - the missing texture jumpsuit
StealthCrashing - crashing without realising it, you suddenly realise noone else has moved or talked in the last 10min and you chat is dissappearing and you can't move

Is THAT what the white pajamas with writing on them are? I've been wondering about that for the last 6 weeks! So if I'm wearing a shirt and the texture is messed up or missing, I get the white with writing upper body.

What's the fix for that? It hasn't happened to me yet, but it's bound to sooner or later. Also, what does the writing say? I can almost make it out, but it's too blurry.

I thought it was the uniform for some SL cult originally, just either edit appearance or change clothes may fix it or a relog if all else fails.

Ruth (n): the default avatar in Second Life. Upon teleporting or logging in to the system, avatars sometimes revert to the default shape and appearence, especially if the grid is experiencing difficulty, and may or may not include any current attachments or clothing currently assigned to them. Ruth appears as a short human female with tuxedo style clothing, short, straight red hair, and vacant expression.

Yo hey this is becoming a private discussion, which is frowned upon in the forums. Let's take it to PM (private message) eh?

Rebake : The fix for missing textures on your avatar, which usually everyone can see but you (the white pyjamas syndrome). Press Control/Alt/D (letter D, not Delete) to obtain the Client Menu at the top of your screen, then choose Character... Rebake Textures. Finally go in and out of the Appearances Menu by right clicking on your avatar. This usually clears the problem and makes the textures on your clothes visible again.

Relog : quitting SL and then coming back... fixes many things if you are lucky.

Clear Cache : go into Edit... Preferences.. network.. clear cache. Will only work when you relog (see above) (or below when this is alphabetically sorted).

Ok folks.. thats as techie as i get. even on a good day

SLeprosy: aka Blue Band Syndrome or Black Spot Syndrome
<n> A condition typified by corruption of avatar's skin/clothing textures. Doggedly resistant to rebake efforts. Sufferer may also exhibit symptoms of sliding or fading textures. No known cure at this time.
